Title: French Late-WWII & Post-WWII Tanks
Post by: dy031101 on May 27, 2014, 02:32:16 PM
Not sure if these line drawings of Cypriot AMX-30 upgrade using T-80 components (http://www.armyrecognition.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=870&sid=6ddc3a4445cc0d8bf5f15ba64cca4b8e#870) are real proposals or just fanarts...... is anyone here able to verify?

That thread notes they are "concepts"...

Fan concept from Wargaming.

Think of it like a Lorraine-40t-based, better-looking Conway, I guess.

I would like to model the AMX-50:

There are 1/72 kits available (ewww...):

But I prefer 1/35 for armour subjects.  There is a tank hunter variant in this scale but no tank proper:

First iteration of AMX-50 120mm, converted straight from the AMX-50 100mm.  Probably doesn't have the weight problem of the later AMX-50 Surblindé or the turret shot trap of the ultimate AMX-50 Surbaissé, but gun elevation is poor.

Does anybody do a 1/35 scale model of the Batignolles-Châtillons?

It seems not. Attached is someone's attempt at a Batignolles-Chatillon Char 25T in 1/35.

The modeller said that he used M1 Abrams road wheels (which look a bit big to me), KV-2 lower hull and tracks, and plastic card for the upper hull and turret.

Cool photo of the restored prototype:

As far as kits goes, I believe there is only this one in 1/72:
