Since Bilek have now produced a Yak-23 in 1/48 scale, how about putting some camera outfitted tip tanks on it and overfly West Berlin?
-
I missed that coming out. I like the idea, how about an East Astrian one?
-
The Russian/Soviet/Warsaw Pact equivalent of the USAF/USAFE Creek Misty program (http://9websites.com/airforce/c130.htm)?
Aeroflot markings with antennas and camera ports on a dark underside?
More fuel for the imagination at this link: ------> Air Force Info (http://9websites.com/airforce/index.htm)

I do have an AZ 1/144 Yak-40 Codling in the wings that I will be adding some lumps and bumps to and putting in East Austrian markings.
A Yak-23 with swept wings and tail surfaces could be interesting to see.

I did a swept wing Yak 23 some time ago

Yep, Bavaria

For those who are deranged enough to travel North of the border and do the model shows in Scotland, many will be aware of the build I have been developing for variations of the Yak15. This involves alternative colour shemes based on the assumption that the Mig 15 etc never entered service, and alternative Yak 15 variants which includes the weird and wonderful. I will post some pics once i have figured out how to.

Sandy,
You can post pictures either by attaching them (click on the "Attachments and other options" area at the bottom of the message box and then use the Attach function) or use an offsite hosting option such as:

Yes, the Yak-15. The Middle East might use a few too.

Somehow, putting a US marked Firebar into Topgun has a pleasant savour to it.

That sounds like a fine build to do. Like to have one on my kitbashed air force flight line some day.

Here's some fantastic "What If" profiles by Tomás Reyes on DeviantART (http://tmasr.deviantart.com/). There's many different examples of each type on his page, all "What If".
