Title: LF canopy
Post by: Kerick on October 16, 2022, 04:09:37 AM
I just bought a B-57B Italeri kit and the canopy is missing. Only 4 bucks. I’m hoping someone has a spare laying around.

Sorry, none here. But - you could make it into a UAV!

That would be interesting! Bring retired aircraft back for one shot remote control critical missions. Or as decoys to flood the air defense system and get the strike aircraft through.

Ken, Falcon Canopy Set No.43 USAF (Part 1) has a B-57B canopy included.

I've contacted Falcon a couple of times to see if I could get a separate canopy from these sets, and I've managed to get what I was after. Might be worth an email enquiry ---

So while looking in my RB-57 kit boxes, what do I find  -------  turns out Aeroclub did a canopy too # C013. Unfortunately, this one is for the RB-57F kit I have, as the kit canopy looks like a glob of clear something or other ---

Is that the Mach 2 kit? I heard there was an improvement set in resin for that.

Yeah, the Mach 2 kit. It's not too bad, although you do have to pay attention to how the parts line up. When I first got it, I went out and got the vacuform canopy for it.

I have visions of building that someday. It would need one of those NASA camera mods.

Well, I'm looking for a canopy again. Really just the windscreen. I had one for my 1/72nd Hasegawa OV-1 Mohawk kit but now I don't. Probably left it at my last club meeting. Anyway, anybody out there have one? US only as postage is too much for such a little thing. Don't worry too much, maybe I'll find it.
