Title: RULES!
Post by: Scooterman on April 02, 2012, 08:47:00 AM
OK gang, here be the rules.

1) Dates-from now (April 2) thru 14 June.
>>>>>>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<<<<<<

EXTENDED UNTIL JUNE 30th.

2) Anything flying, driving or swimming is fair game.  The timeframe doesn't have to be the Spring of 1982.  Before '82, present, or near future.   When in doubt, ASK!

3) There is no rule 3.  Never was, never will be.  Don't even ask what happened.

4) If enough entries warrant it, there will be separate categories for stories, profiles and the physical.

5) Prize(s) will be awarded.  Haven't figured out what yet, but I'm sure I can come up with something.

I think that's simple enough.  Don't want to muddy the water too much, but I think the subject pretty much sets the guidelines.

Remember, if you have any questions, please ask!

Good luck y'all.

Well I am thinking of both a story and a physical model...they won't be related either.

Drop me a PM with what you're thinking, JP. That way it stays under wraps! :icon_ninja:

What about Falklands Wars in slightly different eras?  E.g. One in the late'40s (lots of ex German stuff) or in the '90s ( SHAR FA.2s instead of FRS.1s) or even future (F-35s)?

I liked the idea of keeping it within the RW timeline, but that's not a bad idea either, Greg!

What say you, Joe Public?  It's your group build people, claim what you want!    :P

I like it. We're in wif-world, anyways. I have two subjects I can't cram into the specific timeline, one of them even being wind-tunnel tested in Feb.'82, and an already built sea-Jag (Which I will not enter in the GB). If we can't suspend the physics of time, well, we can continue the conflict up to today's renewed fervor in Argentinastan for recovery of the Falklands (Malvinas for them). Several hypothetical flare-ups and skirmishes in the intervening years come to mind, just for the sake of keeping it alive and beyond the realm of mere remembrance. Also this would be a food-for thought for our story-tellers :-*

My 2 cents,

Rafa

I'd say as long as it has to do with a real world or hypothetical Argentinian-British conflict over the Malvinas/Falklands, we let it in.  I think most will stick to the timeline, but I look forward to the more creative interpretations, too.  It would be good for variety, certainly.

Cheers,

Logan

Unfortunately I am going to be hard pressed to get the planned physical model done for this given I am going to be overseas for the majority of the time...I will try though.

I will definitely get a written entry done,

What about the rest of you?

Folks,

I have just renamed this GB slightly to hopefully broaden its appeal.  It s now the "Falkland's War/Guerra de las Malvinas 30yr Tribute" Group Build.

Regards,

Greg

My personal take on Luft '46 subjects is usually ... what if the countries who captured the designs and/or designers/scientists actually went ahead and just built the things the Germans already had on their drawing boards. At least one major designer, a certain Herr Tank, went to Argentina, and I'm currently building one of his projects in Argentinian Air force colours. If I say it could have rivalled the Harrier, you might get some clues. Could this count?

I attach a Russian Huckbein and an American Me P.1111 to give you the idea.

3) There is no rule 3.  Never was, never will be.  Don't even ask what happened.

I demand to know what happened to Rule 3.

I can has extension?  Maybe June 20th, when the South Sandwich Islands were retaken and hostilities were finally declared to be over?

Cheers,

Logan
