The Alenia A-65B is certainly a looker! I assume the retractable 30mm gun is so the pilot has a look & shoot capability, without actually having to point the plane at the target - quite a neat concept in a fixed-wing design.

I found this hybrid Bouchon/Mustang Hybrid while browsing. Two of them were built for the film "Patton" but were not apparently used.

It looks quite striking!
