Grumman X-29 alternate scheme
« on: March 15, 2014, 03:43:09 PM »
Hi all,
I bought the Hasegawa 1/72 X-29 as inspiration for another project and decided to complete it OOB except for the paint, as I've never liked the stock scheme and hate painting white. So, in the vein of the X-35, I thought it'd be fun just to have it in greys. I was tempted to arm it, but I can easily do that any time.

Couldn't bothered making a backstory, and my camera's battery died after one photo, so here it is: the X-29 around 1992 during research flights for Project MIDNIGHT SKY.

Agree with on X-29 paint scheme.  This works very well.
Looking like that, it becomes F-29 to my eye.  A fine build :)

Certainly does look like an F-29, pre production example maybe? 8)

Very Nice!

I've got an old Monogram F-20 that is going to be converted into an operational F-29, armed for air-to-air sitting in the stash.

Too "low rent".  You need the Russian version in 1/144 scale. It is beautiful ,at least from HobbyBoss. I got one I was making for the Scottish GB. Got decals but couldn't decide how I should make it. OOB or delta wing as an atsmo- interceptor. One day ..   :icon_fsm:
I may be old but I'm not dead ... yet anyway ... !!!    And NO I did not know Richard III !!!!!!

Perhaps in the same scheme as the latest T-50 aircraft?
