Winnebago Helocamper
« on: June 11, 2022, 06:46:20 AM »
Hi guys. Remember me?  I know it's been a while since I've posted.  The wife and I are busy traveling the country in our Sprinter Van camper and I haven't had a lot of modeling time. I did finish one WHIF this year.  This is the Atlantis re-issue of the old Aurora 1/72 HH-3 Jolly Green Giant. All the interior and exterior details were scratchbuilt, except the bicycles which are Brengun photoetch.  The decals were done on my laser printer.

Great job, Ed! Amazing work - you must have a great mobile workshop.

Great job, Ed! Amazing work - you must have a great mobile workshop.

Some photos of my "mobile workshop"

This is what makes it mobile. My Winnebago ERA 24ft Mercedes Sprinter Van conversion. Great for 2 people. Beds, kitchen, bath, and living space.

Here is my tool box/kit.  It has everything I need to make a model.  Tools, glues, paints, and other items.  In addition, I have a small padded box that I keep partially finished and finished models in to prevent damage while on the road. This photo was taken with the toolbox on the counter just inside the coach: you can see the refrigerator door behind it. All my painting is done with acrylic craft paints and acrylic artist tube paints.  I only use paintbrushes and no airbrush. Also, for painting, I use a limited palette. Primarily I use black, white, blue, yellow, and red with a few metallics and special colors. Everything is mixed to match the original colors.

This is to open top section of the tool box.

This is one of the 3 plastic containers that fit in the tool box, showing some of its contents.

And this was taken while working on a model in the coach.  Notice the brown plastic tray to help keep spills and small parts contained.

Nice Tardis toolbox!

I have a bunch of those contact lens containers to use as palettes.

I guess that would make it an S-61RV. ???

S-61R is the Sikorsky model number for the HH-3.   ;)
