GSX1100S and CB750 F
« on: March 03, 2015, 04:31:31 AM »
Hi all decided to start my 1/6 bike dio now I've finished the Bentley. you cant buy 1/6 figures (least not that I can find and if I did I bet they are expensive) so decided to have a go at making my own.

1:6th scale?  You have a large selection of 'Battle Barbie' GI Joe type Action figures in that scale to choose from.  Plus there is the additional benefit of the multitude of wardrobe clothing styles with accessories.  Pretty sure you can find one that will suit your needs and after you pose it on the bike you can putty over the joints and add other details.

Hi all as I've been informed GI Joe, Barbie, Ken and Action Man are all 1/6 so I decided to use them But I wondered if I could have made them, and how long they would have taken so,,,,
Half hour on my fret saw and 10 mins with my multi drill and I got this.

so I think I could build one given a day or two (of course the head would take a while longer)

I am impressed that you a attempting to scratchbuild a human.  Looking forward to see how it comes out. I am also trying to figure out how to scratch build human.  I am considering using sculpty clay or 3d printing.  Good luck!
How do you get those big pictures in the post?  They look bigger than the 375kb limit.

Tim, his images are hosted on another site (Imgur in his case) and he is putting a link
in the body of his post. This is completely different from using the 'Attachment' function.

Hi all first disappointing bit of the kit, The tank is a terrible fit, lots of filling, it stands out more as the rest of the kit is such a good fit.

anyway back to the great fit of everything else, I have weathered the engine a bit, I dont want to weather this one much as I want it to look well cared for however the CB 750 willl be heavily weathered and have lots of broken bits.

Just to emphasise just how big this is that Virago is the same size engine as this one

Did some work on the engine, its been dropped this side, should I give the other side the same treatment or is that going to far, mine was only dropped on one side but I am sure they have been both sides.

Hi all here is todays little bit.
I decided to do an experiment  I've stuck a bit of foil on the tank and I'm hoping that when ive put the top coat on when I scratch through it it will look like the metal of the tank showing through.

also I'm trying to show the buleing effect on a chrome exhaust

These are great. I love the fact that you're doing them in a realistic "used" condition rather than showroom perfect. :)
