Hi all more work on the engine, the pipework is supposed to be gunmetal (why? Surley it would be steel or ally) anyway I decided for a bit of interest I would do it copper.

Added some weathering to the engine.

Ha...at first glance I read this thread title as "Alfa Romeo 2300 BC" - that would have been different...

Hi all there are upgrade kits for the wheels of this kit but I honestly can see nothing wrong with the kit ones, they don't even need cleaning no flash of anything.

Hi all I'm really enjoying this kit, fit is great, no flash at all( I've seen some bad reviews of this kit, all I can say is they haven't built it or are not modelers)

More done to the Alfa, the underneath is finished so on to the top ( those nuts are 1.4mm the hole I drilled in them is 0.3mm) the drilling was easy threading that wire through the hole was another story.

I'm kind of wishing I hadn't started it, on the other hand it does make quite a difference to the overall look.

The exhaust is not fixed I just wanted to see how it looked.

The radiator to bulkhead brace I made out of copper wire the thing supplied in the kit is so flimsy (the only bad bit in the whole kit.

Beautiful !!

You might want to replace the straight bits of the brake-rods with brass - they look a bit too flimsy & may break if you're not careful picking the model up later.  Drilling out the knuckles to fit the rod is fiddly but worth it in the long run.  The old Airfix Bentley had the same problem & with the spare-wheel brace etc.

Hi all first disappointing bit of the kit so far, spent 2 hrs trying to get the bonnet to fit, still not happy with it not sure what to do next to improve fit.

Might have to add a shim between the bonnet & radiator to hide the gap .... or just display it with all the bonnet up  ???
If you're game you could pull the radiator off & reposition it ?

Started some weathering (don't want it to look showroom condition) I also don't want it to look like an old jalopy. Looking at the pics looks like the rear hinge has broken free (again)

The Alpha is, as I have stated, possibly in different terminology, fantastic! :D

But I'm really looking forward to the ship moving forward, that was fun to watch! 8)
