Folks:
There has been some excellent discussion and builds on the USAAF P-48, P-49 and P-72 Corsair. Jorel's line of P-49s were my inspiration.
Here is my contribution.
This is the older Hasegawa F4U-1 Birdcage painted in 30 SQN based in Chittagong, India. What a sweet kit. It just fell together. It is painted with Tamiya Spray Bombs in a two tone NMF. I added the 18" Blue Stripes.
I will be adding an Academy P-47D. Another great fitting kit. This is a RW aircraft used by No. 30 SQN in 1945 Chittagong, India NMF via silver paint.
It still needs decals, landing gear and other bits.
Both will be OOB builds except for the decals (Rising Decals SEAC Fighters) and masking tape for seat-belts.
Enjoy, Carl

Wow is that slick! Putting a bird-cage Corsair in a late-war NFM scheme is abslutely inspired!

Great work

NFM is the way to go with this bird, Big G!!!. And it calls my attention the uniformity of your spraying. I can't get results like that. So far, it looks great!

Hi Rafael:
What I do is wipe the model down with alcohol to remove all oils and surface contamination. I then put on a coat of Tamiya primer. Do my my final PSR. Mask and spray on the Silver (AS-12 for the cloth and TS-30 for the metal). I then masked and brush painted Testor's Insignia Blue. Note you can paint Oil based on Lacquer but not the reverse.
Tip: don't use the Lacquer on the canopy. It went on thick in places and I hoped to use a toothpick to scrape it back. That does not work. The lacquer dries very hard. Stay with acrylics.

I consider the kit completed ( well, I still need to install the brass antenna wire but I need a special frame of mind for that ugly task).
Here we have a RAF Corsair MK.I, RS-G HD 265, sitting on the deck on the USS Cowpens prior to launch before joining 30 SQN RAF at Chittagong. The Corsair MK.I was used to provide air cover for the Thunderbolt IIs during ground attack missions as well as air field defense. The Corsair was selected over the Hurricane for this role due its ability to hold its own with the very maneuverable Japanese fighters.
