During planning for the Escort Cruiser by the RN, it was postulated that the an ASW version of the Chinook would be developed to make use of the extra deck space.

I know about the ships but haven't seen anything on the Chook version. Earlier versions of the Escort Cruiser concept mentioned an ASW Belvedere.

If there was an ASW version of the Chinook, it would likely borrow from any ASW work done with the CH-46, it's smaller sibling.

Two things - commercial application for a Chinook and the skyscraper helicopter pad.

I can't remember when or where, but I'd come across a rectangular version of this trash can (which I failed to snag) that would have made a perfect skyscraper base.

The first one is the Boeing-Vertol Model 107 aka CH-46 "Sky Night", not the Model 114 CH-47 "Chinook".

The Model 107 and 107-II were used in the airliner role.

The Model 234 is the civil variant of the Chinook, and they were operated by British Airways.

The 234LR has enlarged sponsons for increased full load.
