Great Build. Love the details!

I confess I have a similar project on the bench (actually only 1%, the rest is still in my mind) but using only a Scud-B kit :)

Ready for paint - thinking white with black numbers and a lot of orange dust. A few caution panels and some detail colors.

Loos like a realistic extrapolation from a rover like Curiosity to a manned rover. I would go with white, but easy on the orange dust - it's more of a reddish brown. Here are two MSL selfies (both are big and detailed):

This one has been processed and it's not 100% "Mars true color" but has great detail:

This one is closer to true color:

You can also Google "MSL wheels" to see what sticks, typical wear and damage

Thanks Frank3k, great reference pics. Will stay to the brown side of orange for sure.

May I suggest beating up the wheels too? The rover pics look like the wheels take some damage driving over rocks.

Finished - Learned a couple lessons that will help with my D9R.
1. Put the flat coat on after the wash, before pigments. If you look close you can see the pigments found the tide marks from the wash.
2. Apply the pigments after the flat coat, the flat coat took the color away from the pigments.
Comments welcome !!
