Got an Airfix Foche-Wulf Fw190A-8 to do something similar, the difference being you have actually built something and, as usual,  it's superb. :)

Nice one, Les! :)

I'm going to be having a shot at building this variant of the Sea Wallaby;

(http://beyondthesprues.com/Forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=351.0;attach=8933;image)

It'll probably be the next job after I finish the M41AS & HMBLT (so, in 3 to 6 months, if I'm lucky).

I have the kits to be bashed, courtesy of the SAPMA Expo, & this build has encouraged me to build it sooner than I intended. :D

Last pics - now I really should fashion a pitot tube so the pilot knows when he's about to stall....

On the green, what did you use to match the RAAF Foliage Green?

Amazing how the canopy and cowling job changes the look of the 190: I really had to look twice before I got it. Very well done!

Funny thing that.  I rarely trust what's written on the tin and use my FS chart as a guide not a bible. I just mix until I see (in my opinion) the right mix for the amount of scale colour and fading etc.  In this case I mixed Humbrol 21, 30, 101, 149 which is basically black and a bunch of greens tending to the blue part of the spectrum until I got the shade I wanted. I mix as I go in the airbrush pot correcting along the way. Highlights achieved by adding Testors dullcote to the mix with a little black or mid green depending on whether I want lighter or darker. The dullcote makes the coat a bit transparent and you just build on it.
I don't profess this to be actual foliage green, it's just my interpretation.  This is how I approach all my paint jobs, lob some paint into an airbrush pot and keep spraying until the fat lady sings.

Thanks for that, so the answer is artistic license, or in my case probably more like autistic license
