Here the archaic Airfix Chipmunk with floats from the spares box.
This a was a RCAF mod to get future DHC-3 Otter pilots their feet wet and earn their "Floaty Wings".

Rivitgasm!!!
That canopy looks nonstandard. Looks almost like a two seat Mustang canopy.
Just don’t paint white if you value your sanity!!

Yup. Classic 1970's Airfix. The canopy is a RCAF modification.
I am going for full self flagellation Ken: Yellow with International orange.

Looks like a promising start. I'd almost forgotten the old Airfix kit "experience". Those wing rivets could work as a rough file.

Take meds first.
Who had the advice of grey primer first then white primer?
Looked it up myself. That was Old Wombat in my Firewatch Cobra thread. Good advice.

I asked the guys at Viking Air (who now hold the licences for all the DeHavilland Canada products up to the DASH 8s) if I showed up with a truckload of cash, would they build me a Chipmunk on floats. They replied "Sure...but why?"
