I think they trialed but in the end determined that such terrifying weapons were against the rules of war and humanity...and returned to simple nuclear weapons which were considered safer and more acceptable. ;)

According to the attribution (Office of War Information North African Campaign) this shows Polish cavalry in Libya, 1942.
