IPMS Scale Modelworld - Telford, UK
« on: January 01, 2012, 04:42:14 AM »
Robin Buckland has uploaded a number of images for the show that can be viewed at this link on Military Modelling: ------> Scale Model World, Telford 2011

I found this rather interesting vignette of a truck mounted crane performing a lift on what appears to be a bulk liquid container

That looks really neat Jeffry, although I can imagine the engineers here would be groaning at the angle of the lift spreader (I do a lot of drawings for skid modules and have to make a lift schematic for them quite frequently)

I tried.

SWMBO, may I go to Telford, PA to a very small model show? All my BTS friends are going.  It's in PA. Not too far away. Only 7 hours and 23 minutes says Google maps.

She squinted at me suspiciously, severely. Beads of sweat just breaking on the surface of my head  Just a minute she said.

I stared at my feet hoping for the best.

She spun the computer chair 180 degrees.

I stared over her shoulder.

From Google She typed: "Telford plastic model show"

This is not good.

Many hits came up.

She picked this one: http://sparforums.com/ipb/index.php?/topic/818-ipms-scale-model-world-telford-2012/

Then this one: http://www.smwshow.com/news.php

I'm toast. Should I run for it? Or bluff her?

Telford, PA she asked?

Um, yes. PA stands for Pan America. It's another way of saying over there.

Other there?

Yes dear. May I still go? It's only 7 hours away.  By plane.

A sudden movement. Pain. Blackness. Timeless void.

A wet feeling of the dog licking my face which is pressed against the hardwood floor.

A note tucked in the dogs collar.

"nice try. Cooler.  30 days"

The question that begs to be asked is whether the party follows Terry or Terry follows the party.  Or is the party actually Terry?  :)

That Retro Rafale is the one that was in one of the magazines a while back - it is truly outstanding.

I love the He-577 too.

Does anyone know what scale this Do31 is:

Was stunning even when you got past the clevage  ;)

A well deserved "Grand Champion" and suprisingly, for me at least, nearly everyone I heard talking agreed. I thought a lot of the competition boys would have considered it frivolous

I was there too, double heading on the WhatIf SIG and the Airliner SIG stands, which luckily were back to back in the same block. I had a couple o0f entries in Class 33, the WhatIF category but they were ignored by the judges, probably because they were airliners......  :(

Here's some pics of the WhatIF SIG stand.

Kit, do you have anymore photos of that FAA A-3???!!!  Also, what's that wooden display board with looks like grass or vegetation all over it?  Was it a product demonstration or some sort of "find hidden model" thing?

Lots of them, I built it.  :)

It's a Hasegawa EKA-3D with an APS/AN-20 radome grafted on underneath, nose gear uprated with catapult launch nose bar and a few other odds and ends, decals all ink-jet printed.

The wooden board was Phil Peterson's 'Carpet Monster' display, a real hoot.
