Have announced they are releasing a 1/24 HL-10:

Might be a candidate for rescaling in build.  For instance in 1/48 it would represent a platform some 12.9m long whereas in 1/72 you are looking at something 19.35m long.  for comparison purposes, the proposed X-33 was to be some 21m long.

Ah, the aircraft that will be forever ingrained in the minds of kids that grew up in the 1970s US for Col Steve Austin’s dramatic crash in the opening credits of The Six Million Dollar Man!

To be fair of course, the crash footage was from the 1967 crash of the earlier M2-F2 but the HL-10 was shown during the launch sequence.

And the pilot in the M2-F2 crash did not get near as damaged as Steve Austin did (though he did lose an eye through an infection acquired in the hospital); nice guy, got to work with him on the B-2.

Now who is going to build a 1/48 Titan IIC to launch this one into orbit (think the movie version of Marooned) or into a sub-orbital re-entry test?

I remember reading somewhere the cockpit roll cage was designed to handle 20Gs.
