Hmmm...I would tend to remove the RWS.  I don't think it adds anything.

I agree, that is why I never originally added it. It sits a bit too high but most RWS's sit pretty high anyway. It still needs a secondary weapon but no where to really add one. I think the gatling guns will have to do.

Yeah, the RWS doesn't help. The 40mm MK19 under the chin, maybe?

I was thinking under the chin as well. I will have to scratch build a mount somehow to fit either the M134 or maybe a Mk.19 grenade launcher.

I was thinking under the chin as well. I will have to scratch build a mount somehow to fit either the M134 or maybe a Mk.19 grenade launcher. There is a FLIR on the front of the mech and there is also a flat area on the bottom of the chin so I might be able to mount something on that flat area. There is something on the FLIR that hangs down that will interfere with the gun barrel so that needs to get trimmed off.

How about an Emerson M28 Series turret (the same as fitted to the original AH-1 Cobra).  You can get in 1/48 from CMK if you didn't want an entire helicopter kit:

Great idea! I do have a Monogram/Revell 1/48 AH-1S that was used for spare parts and I still have the chin turret. I will dig it out today and test fit it. Thanks!

Thanks to GTX_Admin for the AH-1 Cobra chin turret idea. Here it is with the chin turret installed. I used the Monogram/Revell 1/48 AH-1S chin turret. I cut off the 1/48 20mm gun barrels and replaced it with the Live Resin 1/35 M134 minigun barrels.

looks good! Just the thing for problems too small for the bigger guns. Are you going to add an ammo feed belt?

On the AH-1S Cobra, the ammo is stored in the lower forward fuselage and fed through the ammo feed belt from inside of the fuselage to the gun. You don't see much of the ammo feed belt at all. On the Monogram/Revell kit, the ammo feed belt is molded onto the gun's rotor assembly which runs from inside the turret itself. It is very crudely represented as shown in this photo. Next photo shows the real AH-1F with the M197 20mm cannon. The ammo feed belt isn't shown but you can see where it attaches to.

I do have some 1/48 .50cal ammo feed chutes I could use for the 7.62mm of the M134 minigun in 1/35 to better represent the ammo feed belt. It would be very short though. It's probably better to just keep the molded on ammo feed belt.

Gotta love the BRRRRRT!

Here is a cool video showing the M61 20mm and GAU-8 30mm firing.
