My dear wife asked me what I want for Christmas (after I bought perfume for her as she wanted) and I selected a 1/144 F-14 Tomcat Revell:

The goal of mine is to create the Forward-swept-flying-wing "14" with 4 fins: Fsfw-14F-4:
-
Is her name Tomkate or Tofcat?
-
I'd go with TomKate and you can write something into the backstory about how Tom Cruise & Kate Hudson were involved in the design process. I'll get me coat...
Seriously though, this is another incredibly imaginative concept, mon ami and I'm really looking forward to seeing the result!
Great thinking, Tophe!
Paging Mr Tomcat, to the white courtesy phone please...

Love the design!! Brilliant :-*

Approval from both the great moderator and our F-14 expert is welcome, thanks!

Reminds me a little of this:

beautiful idea!

LOL expert is too kind. I've been looking at hacking off the tail in the same spots you have. Actually have done it on a few kits (havn't nearly finished them at all though). The "right" spot is tricky and depends on if you still want the wings to move... or what position you want to put them in. Because IF you cut the "bags" off, the wings don't get much support in the sweep

Thanks! (Building is not starting yet, sorry, waiting for Xmas day to open the parcel)

On my side, this is not a VG plane anymore, nor even a "flyable" design, just a dreamy smile, a little crazy :-\ ;)

Yes, in that Universe, the film TopGun had a continuation: TopDream. Kelly McGillis has not the feminine main role (because requiring $ billion wages), given to Kate Hudson. And the pilot Tom Cruise and his beloved instructor Kate Hudson have a romantic baby (plane): the revolutionary Fsfw-14 TomKathe, able to win over the future MiG-99...

Christmas day made me open the parcel from my dear wife, and I discovered this little F-14, ready to be transformed:
-
I have started building this model, and the content of the kit (and the way parts are made) turned my project into a light VTOL plane: no turbojet exhaust at the rear but Phoenix rocket engines at wingtips, tilting (and sliding back and forth) for VTOL (and control)...
The rate "fun per time to make it" is very high, thanks again to my dear wife that offered this as Xmas gift. :)
-
I have glued the 4 fins, and it may be finished this way without painting, in grey for camouflage in the clouds (like my F-15 flying wing):
-
that looks good, just reversing the wings gives an awesome result !
-
I really like the quadruple rudders, Tophe!
Talk about an innovative concept! Great thinking, mon ami!

Thanks!
And here are different angles:
-
I like the compact look and 4 fins 8) clever work with the Sparrows too

Thanks to forgive my heretical way, like butchering your idol... :-[ ??? ;)

Clever or crazy? using missiles as VTOL engines (and for cruise flight also, seconds long?)... :-\ ;)

I butcher them all the time lol
