Magella Assault from Magella Attack

 The long running Japanese anime Mobile Suit Gundam is mainly known for it's giant soldier robots, but more...ah...conventional weapons systems do make an appearance.
One of the more charmingly goofy is the Magella Attack
an MBT with a VTOL for a turret. The  Bandai kit is 1/144 scale, and rougly the size of an
S-tank in 1/72.After dithering for a few weeks over making a flak or an assualt version, I
settled on the latter. Here's the start of construction:

The casement, and turret base for the twin 57 mm tri-barrels.

After some more trimming, fitting and adding the guns

and in first primer ( It tends to take me a couple of passes to get all teh imperfections)

And one more snap from this morning. Nothing new, but I saw J C Carbonel do this when he built one OOB at his terrific site, MODELSTORIES. It's just the kit along side a couple of
Dragon 'Can Do' kits, the Karl and E-100.

Very cool! Nice addition of some sci-fi armour to the GB.
