Aarrgghh! It's not bloody Retro-futurism, it's just plain period Futurism or Modernism
or Sci-Fi or whatever, Retro-Futurism is artwork/design created today in a style reminiscent
of the old artwork/design. Retro by definition is an imitation of the past, so please to explain
how art or design from the past is an imitation of itself?

From the description -

1. Futurist visions from eras past.

2. Contemporary art with a retrofuturist theme.

But couldn't the contents of the that Reddit thread be inspiration for retro-futurism, the same way the contents of this one arn't models, just the inspiration for them?

Anyway, from a link on there, check out the gorgeously Jetsons GAZ-16A hovercar at 1:30 in this video:

Love the Pulp Magazine covers.

I suspect "The MASTER WEED" is a California classic.  :o

Peter Elson did a range of ship styles, but I particularly like his NASA-ish ones. The one in the lower LH corner of the 'graveyard' one looks particularly buildable, and I may have a crack at it one day since the egg-shaped front end appeared in several other paintings.

Some others that look buildable:
