OK chaps,
The Steampunk Spitfire build will start today.....everything is in place:
1/48th Airfix Spitfire VB/C/Seafire III kit
Lots of straws.
Lots of rod/tubing and plastic strip.
A spares box.
Cogs and jewellery.
Buttons.
Creativity.
Let's rock and roll.
And the final scheme will be authentic, even though it is a Steampunk Spitfire flown by a Meerkat!!

Fuselage and wings together. I'm leaving it overnight to set the dihedral....fuselage and wings cleaned up nicely with little filler required, except where the wings join the fuselage at the underfuselage point.
Nice one.
It'll be "flying" and have an underfuselage fuel tank as well as 4 underwing HVARs.
Israeli? Yugoslavian??

I'm very much looking forward to this one, Radish! I've always thought the Spitfire was ripe for whiffing!

The Pixies have stolen my Superglue so progress will be limited until I can get some on Saturday...or possibly tomorrow.

I always thought the Type 224 looked quite steampunky.

Glorious....my effort is a VB with a new extensively pipeworked nose, strengthened fuselage and HVARS under the wings.
I have superglue...progress today!!
