To begin with, what about a dedicated naval version painted in a grey scheme and possible fitted with something such as Sea Skua or Penguin missiles?
-
Another idea: in a few years Australia will be getting rid of their ARH Tigers. Who might be a buyer?

And of course someone has kind of done it already:

Looks like one of Dizzy's builds (dizzyfugu on The What-If Forum) ----- a quick search over there and yes it is --

Now I'm interested in that over the canopy radar ----- I wonder if any outfit does a resin one in 1/72 --

D'oh! missed that :-[

Its not a radar but rather a roof-mounted sight with TV camera, thermal imager, laser rangefinder, laser designator, and a laser spot tracker:

That's exactly what I'm after Greg -- Looking on the Air-Graphics website there is something close, a sight mounted on the roof of a Lynx --

The recent(-ish, being from 2006) kit by Revell (LINK! (https://www.scalemates.com/de/kits/revell-04485-eurocopter-tiger-uht-hap--111436)) should have those parts. The kit comes with parts for both the German and the French versions. Nicking the sight for the French version will leave you with enough parts to build the German version.
-
And I happen to have that Revell boxing and their PAH-2 boxing, both being close to hand. And yes it does have the parts ---- thanks for the heads-up Moritz
And another plan comes closer together ----

Following its success with the UH-72 Lakota, Airbus US successfully bid the Tiger as a replacement for the cancelled AH-70 Arapaho.
Entering service with the US army and demonstrating significantly improved performance over the AH-1Z the USMC evaluated the type against the Viper and determined that Tiger would be procured instead of new build AH-1Zs. While this led to a situation of the USMC operating a mixed fleet of rebuilt AH-1Ws and Tigers, the impact was not as great as feared as the USMC version had a very high level of commonality with the US Army version, delivering significant economies of scale.
Interestingly Australia's development, integration and certification of Hellfire and other key US systems on Tiger led to significant royalties together with coproduction options for Australia. Tiger also entered in a spiral development program for the US, which Australia became a full partner in, eventually leveraging additional airframes, local assembly and becoming a key strategic supplier to the US fleet.

... and other key US systems on Tiger ...
I'm wondering about American engines for that hypothetical US Tiger. The in-service T700s (or new T901) could be governed but, other than diameter, are bigger all around and heavier than the MTR390. Maybe the LHTEC T800? Power output is about right and the T800 is smaller and lighter than the MTR ... so, should just drop in?

So looking at the parts, I've got a couple of other projects it might just be what I need. I think the bits are going to develop a fetish for rubber -- ;)

I would go for either the T700 or T800

When one looks at this Spanish Tiger, it doesn't take much imagination to see it in Israeli markings... ;)

Tiger is a tad narrow me thinks:

You may wish to look at bashing together. Tiger and NH90 to get this. I plan to do the same one day if ever someone releases a 1/48 NH90 kit.
-
Can the Airfix Merlin HC-3 substitute for a NH-90?

Can the Airfix Merlin HC-3 substitute for a NH-90?
Not for my plan as it is bigger again.
-
Ran into a similar issue when trying a Jolly Mean Giant. The AH-1's fuselage width vs. the SH-3's.
I suppose a Tiger/NH-90 bash would run into the same problem. Tiger/Merlin even more so.

Oh…me likey
-
I figure the transition points for the narrow fuselage to the wider fuselage provide points for some forward firing guns.
-
The Jolly Mean Giant makes me tingle. The top view reminds me of a Hind. Head on, it's right out of Avatar or some such!
