Post by: AXOR on March 22, 2012, 08:09:57 PM
Hi all,I thought to join in this GB.  ;D
I chose Romanian fighter I.A.R.80 in Regia Aeronautica markings...

Looks entirely natural.  The radial is an obvious choice for the Italians.

Bellissimo! It never occurred to me just how "right" an IAR-80 would look in Italian markings and a desert scheme. Incredible work!

These days I'll try to finish another profile of IAR-80,this time with Romanian markings and winter camo.

Hehe...well,I did not find any picture to prove the existence of this kind of camo on IAR 80,according to books that present this subject during the war those fighters were painted in two ways : dark green/dark earth-upper side and light blue underside or dark green-upper side and light blue-underside,after the war entirely light blue.
Howerver, some planes were temporary painted in this way : IAR 39 and Henschel HS-129...and this was actually my source of inspiration
