Airfix 1/32 Beach Buggy - A FAB Conversion
« on: June 29, 2022, 06:04:25 AM »
My build of the Airfix 1/32 Beach Buggy (A02412V)

Having already built a Beach Buggy six-wheeler, I decided to do another but this time with four front wheels like FAB 1 from Thunderbirds, a vehicle for Lady Penelope and Parker to go undercover in.

Nice!  The four front wheels certainly tie it into the Speed Racer universe and it looks convincing too.

...Coming up 50 years ago metropolitan Sacramento Greyhound bus fan modified a post-1968 VW Bus with rear duals (one had to be an idler), painted it like a Greyhound Bus emblazoned "Sacramento Mini Dogs" on sides in white lettering, drove the Frankenstein around downtown area & 1938 L & 7th Street Greyhound station for years both long since gone.

Fantastic!

Mind you I can't imagine that Lady Penelope (or Parker) would ever be so "casually" attired!

Thanks everybody.  :D

Undercover or uncovered? ;)

Both.  ;) I didn't think it appropriate for Parker to be wearing a chauffeur's uniform while Lady Penelope had a twin-set and Ttiara whilst they were in a Dune Buggy. I nearly dressed them like this but bottled it in the end!

Maybe you should have left Parker with his cap? ;)

Funny you should say that. I was going to give him some headgear and chopped the top of his head off:

In the end I thought it the wrong way to go and dug out a spare figure!
