I bought an Eastern Express BI-1 rocket fighter that had a pair of optional ramjet pods in it. I wanted to do the rocket powered fighter, so I grafted the ramjets onto a cheap $3.00 Yak.15, as it seemed to be a logical idea. The Soviets did test pulse-jets on a piston-engine Yak.7.
I built the Yak OOB, clipping the wingtips and adding main auxiliary and tail-wheel doors from .010 card.
I painted the model with Xtracrylix RLM 80 & RLM 65 as it was handy and close enough. The Soviet stars came from the Yak.15 kit and the tactical number was from the scrap-box.
I covered the ramjet pods with Bare Metal Foil Polished Chrome to make them look factoty fresh and to make the model POP.
Adios, Larry.
