I wonder how horrifically expensive it will be?

Unit cost of a C-295 $28 Million. So I would guess $280.  8)

I am giving up listing them. They all end up on the shelf of procrastination anyways.

I purchased several years ago a CN295 in resin from Spain via EvilBay.  It cost me IIRC $Au120.   I would expect an injection moulded plastic kit to cost about $Au30-40.   It is not that large a plane.

In Canada the C-295 is one of the aircraft being considered as the DHC-5 Buffalo replacement

When was that Carl, I was only reading an article a few days ago that the decision still has to be made. The article was mostly about Viking offering new-build Buffalos which would be re-engined for the proposal. The article was saying that the selected competitors had to have a flying example for the flyoff and that as Viking didn't have one, would probably pull out

OK I've just read an article which says that Airbus was awarded the contract in January 2019. Why the article I had read previously appeared only recently in MSN (or google news) I've no idea.

Look at what I did 2 weeks ago. I rebroadcasted Roger Moore's death from 2 year ago.

There is no rule/law to say when information is published. So yes we will see "new" information which may be wayyyy out of day.

Canada.

And when they're done negotiating the CC-295, they'll tackle the decision regarding the F-35 ASAP.
Cheers,

The spiel that went with the announcement - translation by Google.

Quote
: Good Evening on Friday ... evening.
We hope that the moods are good :)
As the 1/48 scale model is already at the final stage of production, and its smaller 'brother' 1/72 in preparation, we decided to reveal what next model we are currently working on.
This time, we start from the 1/72 scale, because it's a 'bigger deal'. CASA C-295. Of course there will be several versions, including patrol ones. And of course Polish C-295M.
Soon more details ...

Now, reading that, it looks like there is the distinct possibility that there will be a 1/48 scale version coming out later (I assume if 1/72 purchases are strong enough).

Greg, you & I need to start a campaign to get that happening a.s.a.p., mate! :D

Ohh.. I wonder if the RCAF will have figured out its yellow SAR markings for it before it's released!

Nevermind... :-[

“The RCAF has made the decision to use a grey colour scheme for the C-295W fleet to enable surging flexibility for the very wide range of missions the RCAF is required to conduct, from humanitarian and disaster relief missions, to security missions with partners, and all the way to full spectrum operations,” Department of National Defence spokesman Daniel Le Bouthillier said Thursday.

Proposed C-295 sprue layout.

Q and A on their Facebook page indicates a CC-295 Kingfisher will be offered at some time in the future.

Kingfisher still seems to be a few months out. I'd say its a 2022 release.
