SLB Heavy Industries PzKw VI Tiger tank – 1/72 Done
« on: May 28, 2020, 05:44:36 AM »
This was supposed to be a quick build to get me back in the building mood, the M2 medium tank treads are killing my desire. I took a few days off before Memorial Day, and started the build 5/20. After looking at the kit, it’s from 1973, I had to add detail.
If it’s not dark gray, I added it. By the way – I hate rubber tracks !!  :-\
Now that I look at it in pictures, I am going to change the antenna to wire, the stretched sprue has the correct shape, but is to thick.

I had to look at the images a few more times as I was thoroughly convinced that this was the very old Tamiya Tiger tank in 1:35th scale, not 1:72nd scale.  It certainly does not look that small in the images so it was easy to miss.  Great work!

1/72? :o

Dammit, Steve, I'd just recovered from the awesomeness you build in 1/35! :icon_crap:

Obviously 1/35 weathering on a 1/72 model. ;)

Nice job, all the same, Steve!

The build and finish would look great for a 1/35 tank... the scratch built details are fantastic. Are the tow cables stretched and twisted sprue?

Hasegawa's 1/72 armor are still great kits, but the improvements and finish are top notch! Good looking build!

Both ropes are thread, the track rope is a fine thread and the tow rope is a heavier thread with electric wire heat shrink.
