Your not wrong Tophe...  ;)

A few pictures of the progress over the last 24 hours.

First on the agenda was to file down part of the intake fitting to get the right angle and a nice solid foundation to join the fuselages together.

The front end...., well...., whats left of the P-51 was completed.

Then I added some sprue to add a bit of strengh, which now seems quite apt considering this forums name.

And last but not least, the joining of two kits. It seems to have gone well so far...., but boy are there some bigs holes to fill.......  :o

Camo is now on but there are a few areas that need touch ups which tends to be the case with rattle cans anyway.

Cheers guys.  :)

Joe, still not sure what I`m going to do about the u/c. While I`d like to see it on 4 wheels, I also think I`d like to see it as it is with the gear up as in the profile.

If that`s the case, then I need to work on a stand.. Good job I have a lump of 2x4 and a coat hanger...  ;)

Thanks all for the comments.  :)

A couple of progress mock up pictures for review. All the bits that spin are blu tak`ed into place for the shots. Just waiting for some paint now to start on the undersides. Apologies for the picture quality, is it me or is it starting to get dark quickly all of a sudden..?

Another profile update. Light blue undersides added, prop on, missiles on and added a wash for some weathering effect. (Don`t want it to look too clean now do we). Had a set back with the rotors, one snapped off so glad the Chinook runs on two. Decals will be next, followed by the rotor and then I need to work on the stand.

Calling this one done now, so here`s what I wanted to create.......,

...... and this is what I got......,

Due to lack of decals I haven`t been able to fully red star this up and I have also had to renumber it `Red 14` as a `12` wasn`t in the spares.

Here`s another pic of the top view for those who may be interested. ;)

Hope you enjoyed the madness........  ;)

Oh wow! That's friggin' awesome! When I was shading the profile I kind of thought it could never actually work as a model, the sections of the P-51 and F-16 at the junction of the two were so different. Looks like it fought you a bit but you managed to pull it off. This really sums up the motto in the site banner: "where imagination trumps reality".

Fantastic job!
