Boeing AN-1 was a undersea transport & launch platform using modified (folding wing + boosters) F-102s.
AFAIK, AN-1 was intended to launch Navaho intercontinental cruise missiles.  I could see the Navaho upper stage replaced by a manned aircraft, though that aircraft would have to recover on land or ditch at sea.

I like that! Well done!
A and the table top looks a little like waves on the water.

So the masking is done. Now I just have to clear some time for painting. Easier said than done.

Thanks gang.

Almost there, coming together surprising quickly, although I have not too far down the ultra smooth finish for the 3D print parts path.
Added in a ramp of sorts, looking for a couple of decals for that in my decal rummage box today.

Bit of a base to set the scene and some light ice build up on the vehicle to suit.
More pix (and better lit) when finished

Nice work on making that old kit!

So what if the Cubans had Grumman Panthers instead of de Havilland Venoms?

It came out great! I thought some of the details were "exaggerated for wargaming", but I looked up the real tank and it looked like this.

Yeah, it's a bit of a lottery as to how the models will come out, but in general I've found that scaling down produces better results than scaling up. You have to study the images provided by the seller. If i'm lucky, they will show an image of an unpainted, printed model, so that the detail is visible, failing that, a painted, finished model is also useful to judge, whereas CGIs of the .stl aren't realyy useful at all. Sometimes, of course, you just have to bite the bullet and buy the file . . .
Thing is, being an editable file, it is possible to modify things, if it's not quite right . . .

cheers,
Robin.

They all came out great! I thought the second picture was a reference shot of a 1:1 tank.
