The Heinkel Swallow was another of Germany's 11th hour jets, coming far too late in the conflict to make any difference to the outcome of the war. How these were to be flown in combat by kids trained somewhat on gliders is a complete mystery, and speaks to the desperation in those final months. The A-5 model was an improved version with strengthened airframe, uprated Jumo 004 engine, and fixed 30mm cannon. This particular aircraft was assembled at the Hinterbruhl from sub-assemblies coming from several dispersed workshops. The forward fuselage was left in NMF to save time and effort. #635 made it's way to Leck airbase where it was captured by Allied forces in late April 1945. It's fate remains unknown, and it was not a part of Watson's collection.

This is the old Lindberg kit from 1965 (my boxing), and best perhaps serves as what-if material. It is pretty darn simple as you can well imagine, AND is a big plus for me ;). Decals were long since toast, so I gave it a what-if scheme from what few Luftwaffe decals I could scrounge. Not top shelf by any means but not landfill either . . . yet.
Best regards,

Indeed! I remember my job on that Lindberg kit :P You have turned the proverbial sow's ear into a handsome-looking purse

That's a very clean build of a classic and it's got some of the sharpest canopy framing around!
I really like the OD over NMF scheme.
Well done!

Gods, I remember those Lindberg kits. I bought a packet of them from a store sale at a buck a piece yonks ago. All gone now, but I seem to recall that, in outline, they weren't horrible. I built at least one of these, and super detailed the Komet kit, with full cockpit, the rear-view glazing, guns, pitot tube, the lot.
Fun little builds that were amenable to as much as you wanted to put into them.
Nice job.
