Ottoman Armor
« on: February 10, 2013, 03:25:12 AM »

Test piece for the textured paint.

Old M-48 hull that I built when I was about 13, With Textured paint added.

Old BMP hatches.

First attempt at the turret, went bad.

Second attempt went better and I made sure to reinforce the holes with super glue and baking soda. Also the "pen gun"

Inside look at the new scratchbuilt side sponsons

Turrets made from wooden "egg halfs" drilled out with styrene barrels.

With textured paint on everything.

Just using spray paint of the "texture" variaty. You can find it at place like Home Depot. The only "trick" is to error on the side of distance. The closer you are the less pebbly it is. I painted the hull before I realized that so its not as textured but I'm not worried. The color just happens to be desert tan like and I have not yet decided how I want to paint it.

Dude, desert dazzle!!!!!  You know you want to!!!!!!  Come on.....come on.....  >:(

I've read about using Salt and even Corn Meal to add texture as well.  Sprinkle them over wet paint and then paint over them once fully dry.  Found them while looking for methods to make sand.

I really like the round turret and the sponsons. Reminds me of something out of "Things to Come".
