Well, there's a trade off in that the lower the poly count, the easier it is to get a water-tight model as it is derived from a primitive. The low-poly look is also deliberate (I've been working on some scenes using this style), so I would want to retain it - the biggest difficulty is that some 3D printing - certainly SLS in plastics - has difficulty producing sharp edges so the low-poly effect could be spoiled.
The biplane bow planes are as per the historical X1. Given the limitations on the size of individual actuators that could be accommodated in the casing (or even manufactured), and the handling problems of the (slightly smaller) K-class, they were probably a very good idea.
