Panzer Puppy
« on: August 27, 2023, 12:04:35 AM »
About 4 years ago I 3D printed the parts for a 1/35 Panzerhund from the game Wolfenstein, I thought it was about time I actually build it ;D

The model kit is only made from a few parts, after sitting in a box for 4 years tho the resin was very brittle & difficult to remove from the printing supports (Now days I remove the supports after taking the parts out of the printer while the resin is still soft).

Doggo taking its first steps, guided by Hans to the painting bench for some primer...

You can try soaking the resin bits in warm to hot water to soften the supports.

Soaking parts in warm to hot water after they've been washed (but before curing) also helps in reducing support pits on the surface.

Is that a working hinge on the jaw?

Yes the Jaw is held in place with two resin pins that make it moveable, there is a hole in the mouth & channel for fitting an LED too but I'm not using that.

I've given the beast a coat of black primer, which has really helped show all the small details... that I now have to individually paint ;D

Cool! In his black primer, Doggo has an Alien-esque look about him

nice choice of subject and a great subject to print. The chances of something like this coming out as an injection kit would be almost non-existant. This is where the 3D printer production is moving forward.
Get someone clever enough to 3D design it and you can have a model.

Ever see that episode of BLACK MIRROR?

ETA - save time, read the synopsis above while watching the excerpts below (with the annoying narrator turned off)

I added some "colour" with Ammo's panzer grey modulation set. I've had this set for awhile but I haven't built any early panzers yet, I never thought my first time using it would be on a robot dog :P

I haven't seen Black Mirror, I keep meaning to check it out but I have a busy schedule re-watching Star Trek for the hundredth time ;D

I've finished the doggo :D I made this as part a of a "24 hour" group build on another forum, in total it took me 19 hours to build & paint, with the time spread over the three days of the GB. It was a fun challenge & a good excuse to finally build this little guy. I feel exhausted after all that tho, so maybe I'll go lay on the couch & watch Black Mirror :P

Cute! 8)

His greeting style reminds me of our German Shepherd. ;)

And Doggo's tactical approach is excellent.

Faced with opposing auto-cannons? Chomp their barrels off! Stitch that, Jimmy  ;D

Making "friends" with a Polish 7TP

Ok, I went through all four pages of your postings and didn't see a build thread for that 7TP.  The turret looks different, or am I misremembering?

It's a PZInż. 126 from RPM, the kit is a what-if version of the 7TP fitted with the turret from the TKW tankette, you can read more about it here.

Edit: I now notice that it based on the original Vickers E & not the 7TP :-X

I enjoyed building that tank. I made it into a "Chaco War" tank over at whatifmodellers
