CA-23 Scale 8
« on: November 30, 2015, 06:00:45 PM »
Hi my names Brian,

I started my project a few months ago and have finally got it ready for painting. I slowed up a little as I'm getting old now. I hope to have it finished in 2 months. I have the Australian Design Museum coming to take a look at it in the next few weeks as they would like to put it in the museum. I would have loved to keep it but unfortunately my wife said it's to big to hang from the dining room ceiling.

The wing span of the CA-23 was between 31ft-33ft as they would sometimes change the span on test flights if needed.

When I got the drawings off the designer I also got the blueprints which included the insulation of the wings.

Please find attached the most recent pictures of my project.

Just imagine if it had actually been built, a contemporary of the CF-100 with the performance more akin to an F-102, more to the point, what would have followed it?.

Beautiful!!  I can just imagine developments as suitable AAM's became available as well as better engines.

Amazing work Brian (and thanks to Brian for the photo share!)! It must be huge!

And tempting to put an R/C jet or two in it...

You sure don't mess around! That's huge! And very well done, it belongs in the museum. Just make sure they give you a free membership in return.
I have a feeling you've built a few boats in your shop. Am I right?

Up, Brian? Have you a hairy stick bigger than a size 6? I think you may even need a roller.

And a bigger house.

Great work tho.
If I don't plan it, it can't go wrong!

If it's great, I did it. If it's naff, I found it.
