The success of the Strike Cruisers with the Frontier Navy inspired some of their allies into attempting to emulate. The situation isn't helped by the fact that the Armies of Frontier Nations don't see much need of advertising the fundamental reason behind the existence and introduction of the Strike Cruisers- a politically-motivated, poorly-thought-out policy imposed by the FN forces' civilian-led parent organization after a past war between the FN forces and splinter political interest from their homeworld, preventing them from operating a large number of supercarriers. What essentially amounts to the Frontier Navy merely doing what they could to skirt around that limitation ended up being viewed by their allies as one of the templates for developing a modern carrier doctrine, perhaps until these allied navies would, too, arrive at the same conclusion in the form of building their own supercarriers.
The example illustrated is one that manages to unintentionally approximate the Frontier Navy's Mk.IV rather closely- and, in return for a ballistic missile defense technology transfer deal, this ship contains an anti-aircraft warfare system imported from the Frontier Navy's homeworld. Instead of the AEGIS combat system used onboard Frontier Navy warships, however, this ship is outfitted with the Principal Anti Air Missile System. The most notable visible feature of this system is an integrated mast containing a SAMPSON multi-function radar and a RAN-40L volume search radar. A total of 24 octaple vertical launchers are provided, for a total of 192 missiles; Aster 15 and 30 missiles are carried with self-defense and ballistic missile defense in mind (although, given its capability, the Aster 30 can certainly be used to supplement the ship's onboard air wing in fleet air defense roles). Two 114mm artillery guns can also be used against surface targets, and two quad MILAT missile launchers and an anti-submarine mortar provide a means against submarines. For close-in defense, three Fast Forty twin 40mm gun turrets are utilized.
Interestingly, like the Frontier Navy, the military that produced this ship also operates their own parallel versions of the F-14 Tomcat and the Su-33 Flanker together. These aircraft, too, serve as air superiority fighter (F-14) and multi-role strike fighter (Su-33), respectively, but differences in technological sophistications between worlds means that both of these aircraft require a dedicated observer (equivalent to the radar interception officer in the Frontier Navy) to operate their powerful radars (whereas, in the Frontier Navy, the degree of automation allows the Su-33MP to successfully complement the F-14D "Quick Strike" Tomcat with the single pilot it has a seat for). On both aircraft, the pilot's canopy is offset to the left-hand side of the fuselage and the observer housed to the right completely within the fuselage, the latter gaining access to his position through a flush-fitting top hatch. This and that the observer's position was darkened are meant to improve the visibility of the radar instrument imagery. An advanced development of the Rotodyne is adapted into separate anti-submarine and airborne early warning variants.
