Seriously contemplating a 1 Aviation Regiment Mirage 2000D.
The back story being that army aviation (along with a FAA being formed) was retained post formation of the RAAF (which concentrated on strategic bombing to the detriment of pretty much all else), specifically to cover AOP, army cooperation, CAS and battlefield air superiority. While there were Corps level aviation brigades and formation level aviation squadrons, the main effort was the divisional aviation regiment each consisting of one or two squadrons of fighters, one or two of dive bombers and one of army cooperation aircraft for AOP, FAC and liaison as well as a flight / troop of tactical reconnaissance aircraft.
Initially the AEF (Australian Expeditionary Force / 2nd AIF) used what ever they could get (the preference being Hurricanes and Henlys) but by the end of the war were flying Typhoons/Tempests and Beaufighters or Mustangs and Mosquitos. Post war they moved to Furys and Brigands, then adding Hawks to the mix, before moving to a Hunter/Super Hunter and Canberra/B-57 mix, Mirage F-1 and Jaguar, then Mirage 2000C and D before the Rafale B and C.
