This my poor bad english......  :-\

You are right, Volkodav.... all what You draw.... ;)

Love your work, it is so inspirational, it just makes me want to come up with a believable way for it to have happened.  i.e. an RAN FAA F-14 needs a carrier to fly from, a carrier Australia could afford to own and operate.  GTX has gone down this path with an Australian CVV in his greater Australia scenario but my personal bias, coming from a ship building background, is an Australian designed, or at least heavily modified UK or French designed carrier to carry those very sexy looking tomcats.

So.... is pleasure for me, when someon liked my doodles .
I'm sorry that I can't good english. I have story about Czechoslovakian Navy ... mainly operated on Mediterraneran sea, but not only there. But my language ignorance limits me in translation ... Maybe sometime later  ;)

First "spotty camouflaged" Ol´gunner for Old Wombat is ready... only national marking look a little bit troublesome for me. I mean  cockade color ... but changes are possible anytime ...  ;)

Man, I love it! :-* 8)

Thank you! :icon_alabanza:

Re: Catapults; There is a table about half way down this link (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aircraft_catapult) which should give some idea. Note that the Type C-7 used on the Forrestals was the first capable of launching F-14s.

Stat's on the F-14 (ex-https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grumman_F-14_Tomcat):
Empty weight: 43,735 lb (19,838 kg)
Loaded weight: 61,000 lb (27,700 kg)
Max. takeoff weight: 74,350 lb (33,720 kg)

(PS: Sorry about the thread drift, PantherG! :-[ )

Custom work for "comrade Novis" here in Czech rep.

Brewster F4A "Shrike" was made mainly for USMC flyers and was used ONLY like a land based fighter and fighter-bomber( later models) .

Harrier is cool!

May pinch that scheme for the two 1/72 AV-8B's I have for Australian Army builds. :D

I also have 3 generations of Harrier (Sea Harrier FRS.1, Harrier GR.3 & AV-8B Harrier Plus) in 1/48 to build for the Royal Australian Marines. ;)

Like the VMF-217 3-tone Shrike!

About Dingos .... ehm ... Harriers...
I plan GR.1 in later schemes (like L-39 what I presented here a few days ago ).... and after them maybe come later variants... FRS.1 and AV-8B+  ...
In my stash I have Harriers GR.1 and GR.3 from Airfix (1/72 scale) and Hasegawas AV-8B+ and FRS.1 (7/72 too).
For GR.1 i planned German Bundesluftwaffe colours.... but this newest "Aussie-camo" interested me more.... and now come question.... what I choose ?  :(  ???  ::)

Love that Dingo/Harrier and look forward to more.  Perhaps the Sea Harrier in RAN markings, some very nice schemes were flown on their A-4's.  I could see second-generation Harriers flying in both RAAF and RAN markings and I suspect they might use the extra hardpoints as fitted to RAF Harriers (much like the AV-8B+ derivative proposed to the UK).

Question to consider, if these were upgraded, would they be made equivalent ot Harrier GR.3s, AV-8Cs, or a mix thereof?  I could see a Harrier Gr.3 with the straked gunpods and forward air dam of the AV-8C.

What I know, Dingo Mk.3 were equivalet of RAF Harrier Mk.3. And bore  the same camouflage scheme like Mk.1.
Later RAAF modernised his fleet with US made AV-8B / -8B PLUS like Dingo Mk.5 / 5A ...
But question is, if my informations are right or wrong ....  ??? ??? ???  :D

And now one custom work ... or "re-work" ? Czechoslovak Air Force  Mirage III in delivery scheme .... Czechoslovak colours in original French pattern   ;)

Nice.

Can you do a RAAF one in a similar scheme to that worn by our F-4Es:
