"Clear Your Workbench" GB?
« on: September 15, 2013, 04:35:47 PM »
Folks,

With the end of the year in sight again, I thought it was time to propose a revisit of the "Clear Your Workbench" Group Build.  This is a GB for you to finish already started builds, including from earlier GBs.  Proposed duration would be 4 Nov - 31 Dec.

Please let me know (by voting) if you want this GB to run.  The vote will run for 2 weeks and you can change your mind if need be.  Please feel free to put forward your arguments both for and against.

Regards,

Greg

Sorry folks, very minor update:  to prevent overlap with The Free Jocks GB, this GB would start 4th Nov.

Is this model building only? or would the delayed drawings be welcome too? ???

As always, the GB would include physical models, drawings/profiles/artwork, stories and whatever other sorts of creations you can think up.

Personally, I have a couple of story ideas that should be finished...along with dozens of model kits :(.

Have two unfinished floaty type builds.  Flying boat and gun boat.
Fond of both them, but wanna finish at least one and move on to a B-10 kitbash.

I have a monster project planned for the winter months and technically, I have already started it in so much as I have put some drawings together to scope the art of the possible.  It's going to involve kit bashing and a fair amount of scratch build so no guarantees that it will be complete by the end of December but this GB might just give me the incentive to keep things moving along. You have my vote good sir.  :)

My profiles are averaging about 4 years from conception to completion, so that seems about right.

Thanks gents.
I am afraid I am spending far too much time playing with floaty things and things that go bang to spend much time on my hobby at the moment.  The Clear your work bench GB is my shining hope.

Well, I would say the people have spoken.  Will therefore organise.  Does anyone want to volunteer as a moderator?

I could handle it, I have a work cycle coming to a close on the 2nd of November already so it works out that way. I would be unavailable for Thanksgiving weekend, and Christmastime though, I'm going back home for a week, and my brother is coming back with me and moving in. Shouldn't be a problem as this is about the easiest GB to moderate:

"is it started?"

If not start something before November 2. Is it started already? Welcome to the GB!!  ;D

Would it be possible to run this GB a bit longer than usual, say 3 months - Oct 1st - Dec 31st.  One of the reasons I haven't been joining GB's lately is they're too short in duration, my build speed is governed by my day job load ---
