Airbus A319-AEW&C
« on: January 08, 2012, 10:14:04 PM »
hello everyone, im Nils.
some of you might already know me from whatifmodelers.com.
for those who dont, im 27 years old from Westkerke (West-Flanders), Belgium.

my favorite subjets are Belgian Air Force models, but also 1/144 scale and Luft'46.

to start off, i want to show you my latest creation, just finished this one, although its not my best work.

the model is a Revell 1/144 Airbus A319, modified to an AEW platform, intended to replace the E-3F AWACS in French Air Force service.
the MESA radar is scratchbuild, various other parts (IFR probe, sensors,..) are from the spare parts box.
decals are from the kit, heller 1/72 mirage III, A-400M (AdL titles) and from an Esci scheet (tailmarkings)

on the bench:
-various models

on the drawing board:
-various 1/72 TinTin aircraft
-1/72 Eurocopter Tiger (Belgian Army)
-various other 1/72 and 1/144 aircraft

Hi Nils:

Welcome to BTS. Very nice plane.

Is that 1/2 of a Luftwaffe drop tank I see on top as a electronics bump?
