Caprica Marines Blackhawk hopefully.
« on: July 02, 2015, 10:24:57 AM »
I have hit a modelling slump lately starting a lot and losing interest half way through, so after much back and forth decided to go for it and finally give some Sci Fi modelling ago to try and regain interest..
So pick this up from the LHS today, cleared the workbench and placed this kit on it.

With a bit of luck at the end it will look something like this, maybe a slightly different variant or something.  I anticipate a slow long build, but until my Colonial Viper arrives this will be the only thing on the bench.

Oh, yes, definitely going to be watching this.  Yours can be a land-based variant since the one depicted has the short wheel base for easier handling on ship-board.

To do exactly the one pictured, you'd need a MH-60G/F/R model; I can tell from the landing gear geometry and the visible "limps and bumps".

Nope, just needs to look somewhat like it and I'll be happy.  I doubt I'd get it exactly the same anyways.

Scale was decided by a figure I want to place in the door.

There are some coolly shaped markers and hi-liters on the market that can be used to provide a base for really good looking engine nacelles if you don't have anything in the spares box.

Of course a "dead" P-38 or OV-10 could provide the bits as well, but the markers tend to have complete shapes that can be added to rather that trying to fudge a closure to a too-long nacelle.

Just some thoughts.

Should be cool.

I hadn't really thought about it too much yet, figuring they are somewhat way into the build, but those are neat ideas, thank you.
