USMC Mecha finished
« on: December 14, 2011, 09:29:51 AM »
I built this earlier this year. Gaso.Line 1/48 resin kit of the German nachtjeager Wolf. I Americanized it. I kept the 106mm recoiless rifle. The kit's TC hatch was replaced with a spare Sherman one. I also added a .50 MG,site for it,and USMC markings.

The fluted gun barrel on the .50 looks like a scale-o-rama from a smaller scale 25mm Bushmaster chain gun barrel.  Definitely something that looks like a good scout/reconnaissance platform.

That fluted barrel used for the .50 gives me an idea for something similar in 35th scale using a 72nd scale 25mm Bushmaster fluted barrel on a 35th scale M2 Browning.  With the increased surface area available it would promote a cooler barrel and thus more rounds fired before the barrel required changing.  Hmmmm, there might be something to that...

Thanks Soto.
The storyline from Gaso.Line is,the July 1944 bomb plot was a sucess.there was a seperate peace between the Thrid Reich, and the Western Allies. That way the war against the USSR could continue.
The mechs that Gaso.Line makes are for the German military. I thought it would be neat to make mine into a USMC version.
