Latest email special from Rob Stevens @ West Coast Hobbys:

We have Special Hobby kits SH48158 and SH48135 Grumman Guardians on sale @ $39.00 Canadian until Sunday Oct 25th. These kits WILL NOT be going to the SALE section of the site at that time.

For our US subscribers, the kits make a fixed rate postage of $16.23 anywhere in the US. Remember, a request for quote dosen't cost you anything ! .. A nice kit but BIG and takes up a lot of much needed shelf space for new issues. Good deal for the US members.

Cheers  Rob

Bastards, trying not to buy kits being as we're 'retired'. 💀

Started to scratchbuild one over thirty years ago from the
Karlstrom drawings, never got much beyond templates and
roughed out fuselage.

Does anyone know if their various Spitfire Mk.21 kits include both the five-bladed prop and the three-bladed contra-props?  The art for the various boxings seem to show one or the other and I was interested in knowing if both were on the trees in all the boxings.

Which manufacturer are you asking about.  Special Hobby's Spitfire Mk.21 has both props in it:

I was asking specifically about Special Hobby's various Spitfire Mk.21 kits; some box art has five-bladed props and other art has three-bladed contra-props.  Good to know the kit has both.

Thank you.

SH is great for extra bits. Their 1/72 Seafire MK.46 come with two fuselages. And the same sprue Rick just posted. The MK.47 has only one fuselage.

Evan

Just got my box out ( the 91 Sqd in WWII boxing) to confirm and the answer is "yes they do". You get 5 blades + spinner etc for the options in the box and then 6 blades + spinner etc as unused parts.

I built the standard version of the Gnat and it's a superb kit. Fit is up there with the best of the manufacturers. Definitely SH's best so far.

The droptank (or whatever that is under the fuselage) looks like it could be the intake for an engine. Stupid spot due to FOD issues, but some German toilet paper designs had a belly intake.
