Heavy Construction Container Transport Diorama
« on: January 27, 2021, 12:34:37 AM »
Ok guys! Here are photos of the diorama I had been working on. I am still trying to add a detail here and there. I am also trying to order some better looking figures than the ones I have on hand, whose details are not the best. But the ones I have on hand will have to do until I get some better ones. I do not want to clutter the area with too much, as it will look too cumbersome. Also, the scene doesn’t really require many things to be everywhere, in most real world scenarios.

The theme of this diorama is simple. The heavy forklift is pushing a front loader, whose part as been disassembled to be able to fit into a container for transport to a customer in another country. The removed parts will also be placed inside the same container along with another Machine bound for the same destination. That is the basic theme for this diorama.

Hope you guys like it.

Amazing! I couldn't even tell the scale at first - not 1:1 because of the background. Is the Hitachi roller the Hasegawa 1/35 kit and the heavy forklift the Takom kit? Really great work.

Is the container a kit too or did you scratch build it? It would look great with a modern military scene as all I ever saw in Baghdad in 2003 was Army trucks and shipping containers!
Nice work!

Thank you. The container came with the Trumpeter 1:35 US M915 Army Truck w/Container Kit. But If I'm not mistaken, Trumpeter sells them in various sizes too.

I checked the price on that M915 Army Truck w/Container Kit. That thing must be made of gold! Anywhere from $82 to $150! I hope you didn't have to pay that much!

HAAHA!!! I know, right. I think I paid closer to around 80 plus dollars. But, when you have your heart set on it because, a project called for it, there is no other choice.

We had several hundred of those out on the back-40 of our FOB in Iraq, each one costing the US Gummint $2k/month in rent and AQI's rockets always landed short out there. At night.

I'm sending you a bill for my flashback.  ;)

Every little bit of this is praiseworthy ... but the lettering on that ISO container blows me away! Love those little details

Would say you have been around the shipping-warehousing business (I have) to know to include such realistic details.
