Finnish 'Laboratory of Space Technology' enta jos builds ...
« on: December 26, 2011, 10:48:18 AM »
formerly known as the 'Laboratory of Space Technology' (LST.) and now part of the department of Radio Science and Engineering, Aalto University, Helsinki, in 1994 the LST. acquired a Short SC.7 Skyvan aircraft which was modified to carry a range of remote sensing instruments mounted on modular racking in the rear fuselage

The Skyvan, OH-SBA carries a really smart colour scheme of grey and white with a mid blue trim line, in some ways remeniscent of NASA. !

i have been intending to complete a few 'what if' ('enta jos' in Finnish !) type models in their markings even prior to the opportunity to look over their Skyvan at the 2011 Turku International Airshow.
Further inspiration has come from John Lacey's really neat profile artworks showing alternate types in the 'LST. scheme' such as Hawk, MiG.21, MiG.25, Skyhawk, Starfighter, etc. brill work, again many thanks indeed

having a few days off i have made a start ...  :D         (pics to follow)

cheers, Joe

Yaay, both primed (Halfords Plastic Primer) and given a coat of gloss white (Halfords Appliance White) next step masking up the grey trim areas  8)

i came across a started Airfix Islander, this too will be completed in a similar livery, methinks it should sit well beside the RW Skyvan as well as what if builds  ;)

cheers, Joe
