Shenyang J-15 'Chinese Navy 2017' - Hasegawa 1:72
« on: August 19, 2022, 02:01:37 PM »
Hi everyone,
I'm strarting to assemble this kit:

by Rodolfo Masti, on Flickr

to make the Shenyang J-15 Flying Shark:

Source: http://navyrecognition.com/

The J-15 Flying Shark is based on the Su-33 design, but it is fitted with indigenous engines, weapons and radar. In many aspects the J-15 is similar to Shenyang J-11 air superiority aircraft that is based around the similar Su-27 airframe.

A quick look inside the box:

As I said on your PLAN submarine build - I detest the Chinese regime & what its military is doing but;

And, that said, I'll be watching (&, as usual, enjoying the progress) but I'll only comment on the finished build. :smiley:

I can't help you but am I correct in thinking that it's the bit of the shark fin that extends onto the left rudder (or, rather, the bit that doesn't) that's the problem? ???

 ... sadly no ... :icon_crap:

The problem is the national insigna above the shark ... present in the first image but not in the last ...

Superb build. Restrained & realistic weathering... one that simply 'looks right'.
