Some brave choices there for 32nd scale.  An Anton Ju-87 is a suprise to be sure for example.

Bring on the 35th stuff I say.

Nice to see some new BRDM's out. I wonder why they took so long to make an SU-152.They have had the KV chassis for awhile now.

If the MTVR makes it to the shelves, I'll be getting one or two. I need one as the prime mover for my M198, and the other would be a gun truck of some sort or another.

I've seen the FMTV built into an SF support "War Pig" and have ideas for several kits that are a cross between a modern-day LRDG and a private military contractor/mercenary group, so I could be persuaded to add one of those as well.

<...> Quite interesting that the HARM, SLAM, etc are provided. <...>

The SLAM and HARM are only there because they're on the same sprue as the GBU-10. The whole sprue is from one of their 1/32 weapons sets (LINK (http://www.cybermodeler.com/hobby/details/tru/detail_tru_3302.shtml)). At least they don't make you buy heaps of unnecessary ordnance as in their Su-25s and MiG-23s.
One thing I'll never understand is Trumpeter's obsession with highly-detailed engines -  that nobody is ever going to see!  ???

Reminds me of the Minicraft (Academy) 1/48th scale F-117 kit that was issued many years ago that included of all things a pair of AIM-7 Sparrow air to air missiles in addition to a rather decent pair of laser guided bombs.  That was back when much was still not known about what the aircraft was cleared to carry.  I still prefer the Testors F-117 with the B61 nuclear bomb shapes.

Re:  MiG-23.
I ran both the CPI numbers and the Rule of 72 on what I paid in todays money for the Italeri MiG-27 in 1982.
Suffice to say the least the new issue kit is no more expensive and will be a sight better than what thrilled me back in those days.    :)

Wow! An Italian Puma 4x4 AFV in 1/35!  :icon_surprised: Didn't see that one coming! Way to go, Trumpeter!  :) Hope they'll also do the 6x6 version.

Also, a 1/48 Supermarine Attacker F.1!

These two are from their 2012-08 Update (LINK! (http://www.trumpeter-china.com/a/en/news/20120612/2156.html)), which also says there will be an individual track link set for their E-100 series. Awesome, as the rubber band tracks in that one were a bit of a let-down.

Mentioned in their 2012-06 Update (LINK! (http://www.trumpeter-china.com/a/en/news/20120412/2107.html)) is the 1/48 MiG-23M Flogger-B!

In their 2012-10 News Update (LINK (http://www.trumpeter-china.com/a/en/news/20120814/2202.html)), Trumpeter have announced a 1/144 J-20!  :icon_surprised:

Personally, I'd have rather seen the Su-27 and F-16s, but c'est la vie.

The 2012-09 News Update (LINK (http://www.trumpeter-china.com/a/en/news/20120819/2203.html)), has a...

...a 1/48 Supermarine Seafang (that's bound to be popular with whiffers)...

...a new-tool 1/35 BMP-1 IFV...

...and a new 1/48 MiG-21F-13/J-7 Fishbed (that will probably spawn a family of early/Chinese Fishbeds).

One of the few 1/48 kits I would buy, to go with my Spifires, MB5 and Tempest.  All I need is a DH Hornet in the same scale.

Which version?  Classic Airframes released these (both in 1/48):

DH Hornet F1/F3:

DH Sea Hornet F.20/NF.21:

I believe ARBA also released kits in 1/48.

Yeah! I know who makes them, it's trying to find one, I'll probably go with the RAF one.  I don't have too many 1/48 kits, the ones I've mentioned and the Tamiya Lanc' (Grand Slam), Spitfire Mk.XVI, Mk. F.22/24, Seafire FR.47 and a Panavia Tornado (617 Sqd. boxing)  from Airfix .  When I found out that the Tornado was 1/48 I decided to do two builds that are similar, 1/72 Grand Slam Lanc and Tornado GR.4 and then in 1/48.  The Lanc's will have markings of the aircraft my Dad was an Instrument Fitter on, in 'C' Flight.

I've decided to do a few of my real favorite aircraft in 1/48 scale but that's it.

don't you know anything ?  Brian convinced them that they could land these vehicles with a "running start" by suspending them from a zepplin trapeze & flying low enough for a drop from just three feet off the ground :-\

Similarly they could pick them up again & relocate the same way. ;D

Also the P-61B-2 Black widow ''lady in the dark'' 32nd scale, will be released soon which i also created it's boxart! I am sorry i do not know how to post images in the forum otherwise i would have done it! I am sure another guy can do it!
I think i'll have to find somebody to show me how to post pictures and other stuff cos sometimes i encounter some very nasty critic from other modelling sites where i answer to them with facts but i cannot send them my data cos....i do not know how!!!!                                         best wishes,  Kostas Kavvathias

There are multiple options for posting images.

You can attach them directly using the "Attacments and other options" section below the writing pane (just Click on the "Attach" area).

Alternatively, you can use a hosted image site such as photobucket or similar and then link in images.  There are some guides in the Forum Notices (http://beyondthesprues.com/Forum/index.php?board=2.0) section.  This is the preferred means as it helps keep down on memory storage for the forum plus you can access the images for use on multiple forums should you wish to.

I doubt it will, Trumpeter's trucks always seem to be ridiculously expensive when compared with their other kits.

Scalemodels.ru has posted some pages of the Trumpeter and Hobby Boss catalogues for 2013/2014. LINK (http://scalemodels.ru/news/5722-kartinki-iz-katalogov-Trumpeter-Hobby-Boss-2013-2014.html)
They're  not the full catalogues (and mixed up to boot  :-X), but just the armour pages of both catalogues and some ship and 1/72 Easy Build aircraft pages of the Hobby Boss catalogue. A lot of stuff is therefore still missing.

EDIT: Yay! Trumpeter's following up the Italian 4x4 Puma with a 6x6 one!  :)

Scalemodels.ru has now posted more of the Trumpeter catalogue for 2013/2014. LINK (http://scalemodels.ru/news/5759-katalog-Trumpeter-2013-2014-chast-pervaja.html) Strangely enough, the ships are still missing. EDIT: Google tells me scalemodels.ru said something about this being "Part 1". END OF EDIT

1/48 gets more MiG-23s. And more MiG-21s, including the twin-stickers and some Chinese F-7 developments. Hope we'll see the J-7s downscaled to 1/72 some nice day.
1/72 mostly gets kits announced last year.  Plus a new family of Intruders/Prowlers.
1/144 is just the stuff announced for 2012. If we do actually get them this year, that'll be okay with me.

According to someone on ARC , there'll also be a J-15 (Chinese Su-33 Sea Flanker) with folding wings in 1/72 this year.  :D

Looks like we will not have to wait patiently for Revell to get motivated and produce the Fennek (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fennek) :)  Trumpeter is going to save us some time and produce the Fennek instead.  More details as the story develops but so far only this topic at Missing-Lynx forums to go with (http://www.network54.com/Forum/47209/thread/1359556170/Fennek+from+Trumpeter) and I am really hoping this is not something cobbled together in PhotoShop as a joke.

Very nice work.  That kit cries out to be wiffed with a pair of suitable turboprops.  I'm thinking that the engine nacelles and props from a Basler conversion would look far better than the Darts installed on the one and only Conroy Super Albatros.

It looks like they just took the whole nacelles from an Andover doesn't it.

I wouldn't have put that past them.  Conroy always seemed to have a concern for keeping costs down while doing good work.

Having said that, I still like the idea of an Albatros with the Basler turboprop installation.  On the other hand, a pair of T76/TPE331s installed inlet upward, as on the Swearingen designes, might work better in keeping the props inthe same plane they are in now instead of moving them forward.

I have this kit as well as the old generic Eastern European kit (currently put out by "Military Wheels") of the same, which sells for a little over 1/2 the price. The Trumpeter kit is often discounted, and unlike their cousins, Hobby Boss, they don't add ridiculously tiny PE parts just to complicate the kit (although this kit has plenty of small parts). The Military Wheels version isn't bad, but it really suffers in comparison; the Trumpeter kit is worth the difference in price.

Trumpeter also makes a kit of the BJ212 the Chinese clone of the UAZ-469 (not quite, just as their HMMWV isn't quite a copy of the US version). This is a simpler but still very nicely made kit and it's cheap ($14 at Squadron)

No kidding; the Vodnik is a surprise, but since there are two versions of the GAZ Tiger out, it's to be expected.

I see that they're coming out with several GAZ-66 variants as well. It figures... I'm half way done with my Eastern Express kit. I think most modern Russian trucks are now well represented in modern plastic (although the Eastern Express GAZ-66 and the ICM Ural 4320 build up nicely).

You could always get the Falcon conversion and try to adapt it to the F-102 just to be different.  That way you are covered if the Trumpeter project is scaled down to 1:72nd for consumption and you get to make a very nice two seater TF-102/F-102B that looks nothing like the real thing :)

Thanks for your support.... ;)

The chance of it being built soon is relatively slight however. What I really want is the TF-9J Cougar conversion, but it comes in a threefer with the F-106B and a Mirage IIIB for £15.00. The latter doesn't interest me, so the F-106B (for which my affection is genuine) is basically the excuse not to waste 2/3 of the set.

I could see the F-106B as an operational RAF one. All the RAF's Darts would be -Bs, RAF doctine favouring semi-autonomous two-seaters and the UK government being unable to afford the kind of sophisticated ground envionment on which the F-106A depended.

The GAZ-66s are a good addition; hopefully they won't have any major dimensional errors (a Trumpeter trademark) and just as I'm finishing my Eastern Express GAZ-66V!

The 1/200 aircraft look interesting.

From the discussions already occurring amongst the ship-modellers, some who have seen
previews of the Trumpeter kit, the kit is a mishmash of the two ships and neither could
be accurately built OOB. Evidently it's based on some Polish sourced drawings that have
the identical mistakes.

The upshot then is, perfect whiff fodder.  ;D  :icon_fsm:

Got to go the next two steps, mate.   Got to build it and got to pour hours into making it perfect.  Then the modelling gods will take their revenge and a new mould will appear as if by magic!

Personally, I thank you for taking one for the team.  Without your sort of sacrifice, modelling would never have progressed as far as it has!   ;D ;D

Let's focus on one that doesn't require major surgery like the Chinese-made Revell reissue just to prep the parts for assembly first, shall we? :)

Once we actually have a GOOD kit, THEN we can talk about a reduce/enlarge... gotta have a solid foundation before you try to build on it, right?

Bear in mind, amigo, that board is the people who maintained the FULL-SIZE aircraft, not so much modelers. And IMO, when you're doing a build for a wrenchbender, you really want it to be as right as possible... this is pre-prod and test, so we still have a chance to get things fixed rather than fight with an expensive retool after.

Besides, with the accuracy capabilities of modern technology and better access to preserved airframes, there's just really no excuse on a new-tool kit anymore. It also helps to consider that most F-106 builders tend to have some affiliation with the aircraft, and when you've got a  tie to a given subject any imperfections in a kit tend to stand out more. For example, I know one old Eagle crewchief who has a kit from every tool cut of the F-15, and can't build ANY because he sees ALL their imperfections...

Anyway, I think the main thrust is, if you're going to want the price tag of three to four Revell kits, you better bring three to four times the value just to break even... and given the psychological barriers some people have about going above various price-points, that bends it more from a straight-line into a curve on "the more expensive you are the better your kit's gotta be."

Granted, the Revellogram has become a VERY low bar...

I know you mean: when I built a RW motorbike kit a couple of years ago, the fact that I've been up close, personal and swearing at them so much meant that EVERY scaling compromise leapt out at me in a way that it wouldn't if the subject was, say, an obscure AFV and I was glueing "thingy A" to "wotsit B". I fixed some of them but there being a deadline involved, I had to take a deep breath and decide to accept some level of compromise if I were ever to finish the thing.

I want to do a "western" version of it... Centurion lower hull, front engined/reversed transmission, with a cab like 2S7 or M8 Tractor, and an Honest John on the launcher.

Corporal or Sergeant would be more comparable.    Honest John is closer to the Soviet FROG series than the SCUD.

If you want to go the expensive route, this could be fodder for two whiffs when combined with a 1/48 Su-15, a single-engine Su-15 and an operational version of the twin-engine Su-9-based Sukhoi experimental (I don't remember their exact designation for it) that used the same engines as later used in the Su-15.

Two really cool bits of news (well to me at least!) announced on their Facebook site:

1/35 T-55A - hope they'll do the whole family!

(https://scontent-frt3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpf1/v/t1.0-9/s720x720/12195892_526977934127471_59466988727190358_n.jpg?oh=2c6cd9ecdec5bc4e702af569434563bf&oe=56B8B441)

1/72 F-106A and B! :-* 's gonna looks so nice in various RAF schemes! And one in Mod Eagle colours with low-viz markings flown by some ANG!

And going by eBay it looks like the Smerch MLRS and SA-8 Gecko have been released. Gnaah, my poor wallet!  :icon_beer:

Hallelujah!!  A 1/72 F-106B I won't have to make using a conversion kit.  How about the stooping eagle on the tail that the Oregon ANG has on their F-15s?  I'm definitely doing the one that was transferred to them when the 65 AGS disbanded, the desert scheme and that eagle are striking.

Knew it would work: I bought a Falcon F-106B vac-form conversion, so of course, an injection kit came along before I got a chance to use it. You can thank me later for taking one for the team... ;)

Mind you, given Trumpy's record, I want to see an actual accurate kit in my hands before I throw the vac-form away just yet...

There was a Mirage IIID and a two-seat Cougar in the set as well, so here's hoping.......

The world's sole airworthy Lavochkin La-9, NATO name Fritz...labelled by Trumpeter as an La-11 Fang.

People keep telling me about how poor Trumpeter's research is, and I try to be positive.

Anywho, regardless of type this should be awesome. As far as I know the best La-11 kit is a resin one, so this should be a bit cheaper for me and easier to build.

HMS Belfast in 1/700 1942 and 1959 configurations!

Dunkerque and Strasburg in 1/350! (based on past performance that means 1/700 a year later)

I wonder how long until we see a Tiger or Vanguard (the battleship)?  If they do a Tiger then undoubtedly Lion and Blake would follow, as well as the helicopter conversions and quite possibly Superb, Swiftsure  and even Ontario.  Then again I may just be delusional.

The annoying part is that the SKIF kit looks great and even has the suggestion of an interior, but it just fails at everything else. Maybe you can use the hull and turn it into a wheeled vehicle?

Hopefully Trumpeter won't screw something obvious on this kit.

1/144 or 1/72 LCAC skirts are too shallow when scale-orama-ed to a 1/35th hull.
The old Airfix 1/144 SRN.4 is better, but they are still a bit undersized for a 1/35th
armoured vehicle.

I am so tempted to do an anti-ship version of Army-TSSAM for costal defence.  It would have to be shown just before launch as its launcher is indistinguishable from a standard MLRS "six pack" until then.  Given the modular nature of TSSAM, it would be feasible.

The "experten" on several of the Armor modeling forums were disappointed with some of the details that were not included or missing from the M103/M103A1 kits.  There was also one major issue that could not be ignored, the gun tube was too short.  The gun tube on the 1:1 scale M103 is quite long and that problem is easily remedied by purchasing the metal after market barrel that is available to fix this problem.  Yes, it sucked that Trumpeter fell short on some of the details but when has anyone ever been 100% spot on with all of the details on a scale model?  Aside from the gun tube, the other mistakes are in the IDGAS* category for me.  I have wanted a 1:35th scale model of the M103A1 (diesel powered) for years and was unwilling to pay the high prices commanded by the one company that was selling a 1:35th scale resin M103.  So for me, it was not an issue.  At a distance, it looks like an M103/M103A1 to me once the gun tube issue is corrected.  I hope to acquire one more M103A1 if I can find one for a decent price.

The same can be said for the DML/Black Label  MBT70/KPz70.  It represents the German version of the tank but that did not prevent me from adding one to the stash as it is again the only affordable MBT70/KPz70 kit available and it has plenty of what-if potential right out of the box.

*IDGAS = I Don't Give A Shit :)

*** edit to change Trumpeter M103 to DML/Black Label M103 in my comment.  Thank you Jon for pointing that error out to me.

Neither of the kits you mention are from Trumpeter, Jeff. The pooched M103 and German MBT-70
are both Dragon Black Label, and the M103 issues go far beyond a short barrel.

Quite right you are Jon.

Still, both of the BL kits look like the named subjects from a distance and that satisfied my criteria towards acquisition.  :)

If Trumpeter does release their interpretation of the M103 and KPz-70 without all of the deficiencies that were discovered in the BL kits then I will definitely add the kits to the stash.  For now, the BL kits are the only game in town detail issues or not.

And that's perfectly fine. More power to you, Jeff!  :) To me, they were deal breakers. It's not so much a mm here or there, the big problem to me is that the turret is too far forward, making the glacis too short and the engine deck too long. That, in my eyes, completely alters the look/feeling/appearance of the vehicle and makes it look more like the WWII designs (short/steep glacis), rather than paving the way for tanks with turrets more in the center of the vehicle (such as the M60). It should look less M26-ish and more M60-ish, if that makes any sense.
And while the barrel is easily swapped out, the turret location is much harder to change and would make drastic cutting, splicing and reshaping necessary. However, should I find one for a decent price, I might consider going through those troubles and using ERA panels to hide the mess that would undoubtedly ensue, plus adding a fictitious engine deck.

For anybody interested in the Dragon M103's shortcomings, take a look at Vodnik's write-up here: LINK! (http://vodnik.net/pages/M103A1/m103a1.htm)

EDIT: Actually..... looking at pics of the hull in Vodnik's review, it seems that with the kit's breakdown of the upper hull, it shouldn't be that hard to move the turret ring assembly back a couple of millimetres and re-contour the glacis. You'd still be left with lots of smaller things to tackle (or not), but that could go some way towards restoring the "feel" of the M103.

There definitely produce some interesting subjects, they are even reasonable accurate at times.

Would love to see them expand there WWI range, some early battlecruisers would be cool (HMS Indefatigable / Australia / New Zealand...hint hint hint).  Actually Courageous and Glorious in their initial large cruiser / battle cruiser configuration would be great too.

Indeed.  I have heard the rumour that Flugzeugträger B (the second Graf Zeppelin class ship) may have been named the "Peter Strasser" but I think it is nothing more than that.  I wonder if the kit will be a what-if duplicate of their also planned Graf Zeppelin or whether it will be real-world (i.e. nothing more than a partial hull ;)).  I don't think there were any changes planned between the two ships to provide a visual difference though who knows, maybe Trumpeter will include some whiff options...

Going by their 1/700 and 1/350 scale aircraft releases though I think we will only see the standard planned airwing:

The Tu-128M should be interesting. The only version available right now is the A-Model kit.

First time I have ever seen a ZK 92 Krug  It looks like it should be firing those missiles at Mothra.

Not aware of a AEF Designs resin one.  There was this 1/48 version from Hawk:

Rare as hens' teeth now I believe.

I think Nichimo also did one in 1/48 (saw it a long, long time ago - Engrish on the instructions was amusing) and ITC did one, way, way long ago, in 1/24, motorized with rubber band tracks (actually have one of these obtained for a reasonable price on eBay, just need to replace the tracks with something decent).

Not sure about the Nichimo one but I just learnt that Tamiya did one (which is actually the same kit at the Hawk one) in either 1/50 or 1/55:

Sigh...if only they were in 1/35.

Do it up right and also include the filmstrips of the capture of the U-505?  The original of which is still part of the Chicago Museum of Industry (we have Spitfire and Stuka models hanging from the ceiling, they have real ones, along with the Travelair Mystery Racer and a number of other significant aircraft).  *chuckle* Of course, it is only "coincidental" that Chicago is also the hometown of Admiral Daniel V. Gallery whose task force captured the submarine.  If you can find copies, his written works, both non-fiction and fiction are good reads (much of the fiction is highly humorous, though he as at least one solid and serious novel, too).

To the best of my knowledge. the only things replaced have been jettisonable stores (bad form if a live bomb fell off the Stuka).  The main hall of the museum is quite something.  The building itself is over 100 years old and is one of the few remnants of the Columbian Exposition.

There's a large scale corporate cut away model of the submarines I used to work on that does my head in, it has some major inaccuracies that where obviously put there so as not to give away certain performance details, i.e. the size and configuration of the batteries, which would permit a clued in party to extrapolate the designs indiscretion rate if they saw the real thing.  Knowing the reason why its wrong still doesn't help my inner rivet counter.

That would be one of the five Travel Air Type R, specifically Frank Hawks Texaco 13 c/n R-2004,
registered NR1313. It was quite bit different from the other Type Rs, and only raced once, with
short panel wings, in the 1930 Thompson Trophy. The aircraft spent its career primarily setting
cross-country and inter-city records.

Way to go Greg!  Taking another hit for the team.  Maybe time to set up a "Go Fund Me" to offset these purchases?
Mission statement being that someone has to buy the resin kit before the injection molded model can become available to the rest of us... :)

Great to see some of these quite small in actual numbers subjects being offered as models but FFS would someone please produce an F-86H Sabre in 1:48th scale that is not vacu-form or resin.

You must have a better catalogue than I do, because I don't see one there? EDIT: If it's true, and they're stepping on HK Models' toes, I wonder who will be the first to release B-29 in 1/32?

In the 72nd scale, I wonder how their F-106 will compare with Meng's? (I'll be bold and assume it's in any case better than the archaic Hasegawa/Frog one.)

Also, looks like they are also doing the A-6 family in 72, about time since there's basically only Italeri, or horribly overpriced Fujimi kits from the bay of evil (Hasegawa's Prowler is decent, because it's a different kit altogether than their Intruder, and Matchbox, well, Matchbox). EA-6A might be too much to hope, though.

Kit-bashing that into 1/72 super mega bomber (tanker, AWACS, cargo, etc...) will be quite a challenge.

1/144th.

I'm not convinced its 1/144 - if it is, its not a very good kit.

The Great Walll Hobby (GWH) / Pit-Road Vulcan is more detailed than this, even the Cyber Hobby 1/200 Vulcan is better than this.
http://forums.airshows.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=70451 (http://forums.airshows.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=70451)

Trumpeter do a range of 1/350 (in which case this would be a good 1/350)

Problems with this kit is the the lack of detail:
 - the wheel wells are sparse empty boxes,
-  the undercarriage is poorly defined,
-  there is no crew access door forward of the nose gear

As i said, if it ends up being 1/144, it will be a shame...

While it's pretty cool they're carrying on with the 1/144 bombers, WHERE'S THE BLEEDIN BACKFIRE?  :icon_twisted: They'd have the market cornered on decent Tu-22Ms. Instead they choose something done by a competititor not too long ago. Is it more about hurting the fompetitor's sales? Does that make sense for somehing as esoteric as 1/144 Cold War bombers? Wouldn't it make more sense to release a Backfire? Surely a sizeable  portion (most?) of the Vulcan market potential has already been harvested by Great Wall/Pit-Road.

Either way... hooray for more 144! :icon_beer:

Really trying to figure out the box art for this one. Are the two Fulcrum that are buzzing the carrier enemy planes that just sank escort ships or did the planes sink the enemy surface combatants that got way to close to their carrier for comfort? Or did subs take out the escorts and they are trying to launch as many birds as possible to save them?

The shapes are distinctly Sukhoi.

The J-15 is indeed a development of the J-11 which is itself a development of the Su-27.

Via the The Modelling News (http://www.themodellingnews.com/).

In 1944 the Construction Bureau of the Ural Heavy Machinery Plant developed the SU-101 with the D-10S gun and the SU-102 with the D-25S gun. Both vehicles were designated as Uralmash-1. Prototypes were manufactured in April 1945. The vehicles never entered mass production nor saw any active service.

And of course, one day after the Tiger announcement, we have this:

off topic..

I'm building the Tiger Leopard , and it is heaps better in terms of fit than any Trumpeter kit I've done. Very Tamiya-esque. If I were looking at getting a Pantsir, it would be the Tiger one hands down.

Hmm! so I've just checked the other two forums I frequent most, and they both show the first post in any thread as 'Reply #1'  what the heck is causing that to happen then ? I can't think of anything that I have done to the settings.
It's interesting to note, but isn't BTS, SPF and What-If all on Paul's (overscan) server ?

EDIT: I should add that first post doesn't show as Reply #1 if I'm  not signed in.

That'll be the perfect base for one of these:

out of interest, how many T-72's (or knock-offs) do the Chinese have ?

The Chinese don't have any T-72s. The Russians were miffed that the Chinese got a hold of an intact T-62 during their 1969 border conflict, so no more tanks for China. China did buy/borrow some T-72s from Iraq and other countries, took some measurements, filed some serial numbers off and whiffed it into what eventually became the Type 99 (ZTZ-99) (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Type_99_tank). It has a bigger turret than the T-72, but similar round storage, so it may be prone to the same blessings from St. Javelin.

As Frank3k said, the ZTZ-99 is based off the T-72. The ZTZ-99 did retain the same autoloader so is prone to the flying turret syndrome as seen in Ukraine.

It is a nice looking tank though.

I am sure they are paying very close attention. There is no land bridge to Taiwan so they need an air and sea assault before any tanks get involved.

That one I showed above in the previous post is actually the export version for Thailand which they renamed the VT-4. Those are Thai troops. There are some minor differences in the VT-4 but it is basically the same as the ZTZ-99.

This is the actual Chinese ZTZ-99.

Ah, yes, but the Macarena training comes free with the tanks, it's part of the induction! ;D

Would be fun to see a few thousand troops doing the Macarena like a flash mob.
