Hi all well not a great experiment but at least I now know, now I just have to see if oven cleaner will take the gold leaf off and the acryllic size.
I've also learned you cant mask with just masking fluid.

Hi all well I'm learning lots with this build, oven cleaner takes the gold off ok but not the size, the size is still sticky so you could probably guild it again, if you try and sand it you get lots of little sticky particles all over the part that you cant get off white spirt wont touch it, but, eureka methylated spirits gets it off.

Hi all well I'm calling this finished. I wanted it to look like it had been left out in a rain shower and the rain had dried on, so as an experiment I diluted matt varnish about 50% the used a tooth brush to flick rain drops on it, I quite like it and think it worked quite well.


















and added to my growing collection
