Post by: Igmar on June 24, 2023, 02:30:20 PM
Hello colleagues.
I am communicating with the help of a virtual translator.
Recently I created an author's channel on YouTube, where I show and tell about technologies of assembly, conversion and self-manufacturing of scale models, as well as show examples of work with tools, equipment and materials. Come in, watch, subscribe. There's nothing to see on TV anyway.

We're starting a new section (playlist) called: "Putting together a model". Let's start with a copy of the lightweight Soviet T-26 tank at a scale of 1:35, from the manufacturer "Hobby Boss". Before assembly - overview of the model, look at the box, see what's in the box and attach parts to the drawings.
Come in, watch, subscribe.

The Metal painting by chemical means videos are interesting. Even getting a black color on brass is an improvement since the original color won't peak through the paint, plus it makes weathering PE parts easier.

Wire cutters - it's hard to imagine modelling without this tool. Let's take a look at the update and improve their cutting qualities. In the video there is not only testing, but also "crash test".

Great video - I'm a fan of the 7TP/T-26 family. It's not surprising that HobbyBoss/Trumpeter managed to make mistakes on this tank - it's almost a trademark.

Brave man to remove the rivets with a safety razor blade and no gloves!

Very cool. Your annealing, die-plate drawing, rolling, and stretching technique makes for very convincing branches!

Looking forward to Part 2

I tried Igmar's instructions on polishing the edges of sprue cutters (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z6kJiVUPcDo (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z6kJiVUPcDo)) on two old, generic Xuron cutters. Big improvement, and an easy process. No quite as good as my Tamiya cutters, but close.

Greetings, colleagues.
In the new video, we start assembling the model "Albatros D.III", in scale 1/32. Let's start by correcting the main geometric inaccuracies. Let's attach the model details to the drawing and in some cases we will increase the polystyrene, and in some cases we will remove the excess. We will use the following tools: jigsaw, files, needle files, scraper and others, as well as “Milliput” epoxy compound.
Go to the channel, watch the video, subscribe, like.
Thank you.

Hello, citizens modellers.
We continue to collect a light, Soviet tank T-26, in scale 1/35.
When working with the model and drawings of the tank, another error was found, which had to be corrected. Assembly of the mechanic-driver's cabin, a little more complicated, but with these difficulties - we will definitely cope.
