1/48 kit.Worst instructions ever. The plastic on these kits reminds me of Italeri plastic. Regular model glue works well on it.

Wow :o One of the coolest mechs ever :-* Nice job. What model is that from?
-
Paolo Parente's Dust (http://www.dustgame.com/)
I see thats called a Micky. There's an ad on the page above for a 'Micky bundle, that looks like about half a dozen kits for
around $300... ( 279, plus S&H ) Pretty neat looking stuff, but I've never been comfortable with the straight lift of tank turrets
onto clunky walkers... The designs also greatly resemble a game from the '90s called Gear Krieg, from Dream Pod 9.
-
Cool as heck and yet ...HOLY CRAP those prices :o Don't guess I'll be having those >:(
-
Although expensive, their stuff is comparable price-wise with other 'exotics'. $30 for a 35th scale resin figure set is fairly normal and anyone that's looked at Hobbyfan or Panzershop's armour will see that $100+ for armour is quite normal too.
Regards,
John

The 1/48 line isn't too bad.

Instructions? You still use those? ;)
Nice work, Zod! I really like how intricate the legs & feet (?) are.

Thanks Brian. If I use instructions, does that mean I have to turn in my guy card? :o

Yep!

You can use the instructions just as long as you do not tell anyone that you did so. That way you can keep your card :^)
Interesting little model and the main armament has me wondering what a stock M5 Stuart would look like with something like that instead of the 37mm gun.

Thaqnks Jeffry. ;)
I airbrushed some Tamiya NATO brown on her this morning. I then airbrushed some Tsetor's chocolate brown in a camo pattern. It is hard to see the difference in the browns. I am going to respray it. I will probably use field drab as a base color, then the chocolate brown.

Paint the toes red? So it can hide in a tree and pretend to be an apple?
Wehrmacht ambush pattern camouflage? Or something based on that pattern would be nice.
-
Wonderfully wierd.
Does the guy who has to go out and pick up turret mounted gas tank use a safety line?
Agree that red toe nails would be nice. Plate above-behind toes could have "KEDS" on it or the Nike logo.

Jeffry and Bill
You two should be stand up comedians. ;)
-
Wow that's coming along great, Zod!
If I were you, I'd just leave the toe-nails red and find it some nice open-toed shoes.
I'll get me coat.

Sure looks nice but is it traveling light? No stowage?
-
I rather like the lean, clean look. Normally I like to see that lovely kit piled on but, as someone noted about the jerry cans, tough to get at stowed gear safely on this lanky puppy!

Thanks Jeffry. Not sure if I will add some light stowage.Maybe some packs or something.

I may add some thin wire onto the turret for adding some packs or something. Never did give it any thought on adding stowage.

Nice stuff !! Its like a steampunk AT-ST ! :D
-
Or Diesel Punk ;) Have you seen the beginnings of that AT-ST diorama with two knocked out and now rusting away AT-STs? I was thinking that would be interesting approach to the Dust walkers as well.

No I have not. :( Is it here? I did not see anything with AT-ST in the title.

I posted a link to the AT-ST topic on ARC in this thread: ------> Star Wars Ideas and Inspiration (http://beyondthesprues.com/Forum/index.php?topic=409.msg6728#new)

Doh! I couldn't remember where I'd seen it and 'Star Wars I&I' was a bigger stretch that the ol' grey cells could manage! :icon_crap: Thanks Jeffry.

This is so good it should have its own feature film! The jerry cans and spotlight are a nice touch! Absolutely top-shelf pro-style all the way!

Added a bit of stowage. I do not have much stowage with me in the truck.

Gets still more wonderfully wierd as the build goes on.

That looks good. Not too much and all fairly easily 'grabable' from the hatch. Still a looong way down though ;D

The walker would need to be less cluttered than a traditional wheeled or tracked vehicle since it would need to be lighter in weight. At least that could be the argument made for not over-burdening the thing with tons of extra stuff.
-
I think Mr Fontaine has a good point. What you've got on it looks pretty realistic. Maybe this is a case of less is more?
Your stuff is museum quality, Zod and the fact that you build in the cab of your truck only makes it even more amazing!

Thanks everyone. :)Hopefully,I can post some more pics soon. I am figuring out what color of MIG pigments to use on this beast.

Zod, this monster is a beatuiful thing. I hope I never get on the wrong side of it's business end. Looks heavy and cumbersome bu the robust legs suggest nimble and agile. Like an ostrich wearing body armor!!!
-
. Like an ostrich wearing body armor!!!
Christ dont give them ideas like that !! ;)

I may be putting this on some sort of base. Not real sure yet. Will add some dirt to her before I go back on the road Tuesday. Then the project will be on hold for awhile.

I decided to repaint this gal. With talks with Jeffry Fontaine,I decided to change the cannon to an 81mm breech loaded mortar, The barrel is a cutdown 76mm KV1 barrel, with the muzzle drilled a hair wider.

I sprayed on some semi gloss clear coat today. I will wait one week for that to fully cure, then add the wash.
-
That looks sharp! What environment did you have in mind for the camouflage? Breech-loading mortar says 'urban combat' to me ;)
-
I really like the re-working on this, Mr Zod! The new gun looks like it belongs on it! Nice work!
